Not my favorite Sharon Creech because I did not identify with the characters as well as I have in her other books. However, it was a quick, satisfying, feel-good book, which is what I was shooting for. I read Walk Two Moons, Sharon Creech's most popular work when I was in Junior High, but did not pick up her other works until I was in my late teens/early adult years; because of this I don't know if I recommend her books generally for adolescents, but I do with this one. It is tailored to a younger audience, but as with all of her books some of the themes (such as a parent who is unsure how to change his life and does not tell his children that he is their father) may be topics an adult would want to talk through with their child.

I read this book with my daughter, who really hoped there was a sequel.
It is a well written story of two orphans who trust no one. The orphans are taken in by a couple looking to each have a seperate adventure before they are too old to follow through on their plans. The main characters find out that adventure can be found in many places and they can trust one another.
A sequel would be very welcome.
