I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book.
I do like Dolly Parton, but I'm not a big country music fan.
Story's setting is Nashville...
I work part time at a library & saw Run Rose Run when it landed in the New Arrival Books. I picked it up one day & got so sucked in I had to check it out, bring it home, and read it 'til I was finished.
Good story.
There were some unexpected bits & pieces of fun and sorrow - good balance overall.
If Parton & Patterson teamed up for another book, I wouldn't hesitate to read it.

This is my first James Patterson book I've every read. I was disappointed. The story was interesting enough, but it just didn't have the punch I thought it would have. Dolly fans will like it, for sure. But I found it predictable.
AnnieLee Keyes is a young, poor singer/songwriter who finds herself a rising star in the Nashville country music scene. Befriended by a retired country megastar, she is on her way to a new life that she's only dreamed of. But what if your past isn't done with you? What if you can't outrun your past demons?
Very good story that draws you in and keeps you cheering for this young girl trying to break free from her past and live her life with new friends and achieve her dreams.

I had been looking forward to reading this book for a while, but once I started reading, I was highly disappointed. It's hard for me to view this book as a "thriller," and maybe that was why I was let down. I was looking for a book that would keep me on my toes, but instead it was boring and too stereotypical for me. I wanted to finish it to see if it would get better, and maybe for a few chapters it picked up with a little bit of action, but it wasn't enough for me to want to read anything else by Dolly and Patterson if they write another book. I will definitely pass on it if they do.
