Very captivating book - cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

Casey Cox is running for her life. Her friend, Brent, has been murdered and she found the body. Her DNA is all over the place and she knows the police will never believe her. Brent was investigating her father's supposed suicide and found proof that he was actually murdered.
Dylan Roberts is hired by Brent's parents to find the truth ... the local law enforcement wants him to find Casey. The more Dylan looks into this case, the more he believes that Casey is not a killer. But he has to find her before she's arrested for murder.
Terri Blackstock is a well known author, but this was the first of her books I've ever read. The plot was tightly woven. I especially liked how Casey manages to keep one step ahead of the law. Dylan is likable, but after serving 3 deployments to the Middle East, he is suffering from PTSD and subject to flashbacks.
The ending is not what I expected. It's not exactly a cliff hanger, but there is room for a sequel.
My thanks to the author / Zondervan Fiction / NetGalley who furnished a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion.

So good! The ending climax of the story just about did me in! I felt like I was there, which was not good! Highly recommended!
