Anna Maxted sure does take the long way to get to the (anticipated) conclusion in this book. I love to read and really had to force myself to plod through the musings of the self-absorbed, confused main character. Her eating disorder doesn't make me feel bad for her; I pity her. There are many wonderful books out there; don't waste your time on this one!

Fast read. Young English crowd; Natalie's best friend is getting married and she feels alone and lost. Meets the wrong guy, loses her job and almost loses her friends but wins out in the end. Actually a good read.

Didn't finish. One assumes the vapid, whining, self-obsessed heroine of this piece will eventually turn into a human being but after struggling through almost 300 pages of this 400+ page boatload, I bailed out.
Great easy read. Should have seen the suprise coming, but totally wasn't looking at all the right clues in the right way... Sad at times, but still overall a good read.
Not nearly as enjoyable as Maxted's "Getting Over It," but generated enough interest to keep me reading it.
When I first began this book, I was not sure I'd finish it, but as I read on, the content became more meaningful. I think it has a lot to say about how women care for themselves in today's world and how they define their worth. It provides good insight into the psychology of eating disorders, and it's funny too!
fun summer "beach read"!
Anna Maxted is a wonderful writer. This was the first book I read by her - the others are just as great!
Great writer...slow start, but it picks up and is very funny. Very good chick lit!
i definitely enjoyed this one... very witty, dry, and smart
Not as good as Getting Over It, but better than Behaving Like Adults.
the book starts out slow but a lot better as you read on
An overweight person reading a book about an anorexic. I really know how to pick them, don't I? After I found out I was reading a book about an anorexic, I thought I was going to hate the book. Admitedly, it is a fluff chick-lit style book. Something about me actually liked it though. I found myself feeling emotions (albeit rarely GOOD emotions) towards the characters and I'll take moving books where I can find them.
a chick lit book. read it a while a go. decent book.
This is a great chick lit book about a girl who had it all, messes up and finally realizes what makes her happy. I really enjoyed this book!
Brit chick lit but also a fairly compelling and frank character study of a anorexic/ borderline bulemic who can't find perfection in her life or her relationships and seems determined but completely unaware of her intention of ruining her relationships. The eating disorders are a theme but not the only drumbeat of this novel. I really liked the relationships. Maxted does a good job, yet again.

Good book - a little dark and depressing at some points - but poignant.
Natalie Miller's best friend Babs is getting married! What happens when your best friend pledges everlasting love to someone else?
Wickedly witty and refreshingly honest, "Running In Heels" is a hilarious look at the lies we tell ourselves-and the unwanted truths that only our best friends can tell us.
Funny English chick lit!
