I loved the book, but then I always enjoy books by Shel Silverstein. I have waited months and months to get a copy of this one from PaperBack Swap so I was thrilled when someone had a copy for me. I teach first grade and my students love it when I share it with them.
This is a really hard book to read cause it is hard to say the words the way they are written and I had to really slow down to get them right. I think this one is geared more toward older children and adults. I LOVE Shel Silverstein and am trying to collect all his books.
Series of 1 and 2 page poems, all about Runny Babbit, he may have gotten the idea from TV's Hee Haw in the barbershop back in the 1970s (the intro says Shel started this book at least 20 years before publication, 1999). You could argue that it's simply telling the same joke over and over, but then, that's what the 10 and under crowd like.
