Better than what I anticipated. I enjoy watching her and Dean's series, and think her to be forthright, and down to earth. Yes, she has had a rich girl's life, but as an adult she appears to have worked hard for her success. She made choices that I wouldn't necessarily condone, or act upon, but hopefully she and Dean are really the rare "love at first sight" couple that truly belongs together. In the book, Tori admits her mistakes, but doesn't dwell on them. A large part of the book is devoted to describing the tumultuousness relationship with her mother. I found the book to be interesting, and definitely a page turner.

I was a closet Beverly Hills, 90210 fan, so I was curious what Tori Spelling had to say in this tell all book. The 'poor-rich-girl-who-just-wanted-a-normal-childhood' angle wasn't at all surprising and the writing needed some work, but I thought it was a fun, entertaining read overall. Any fan -admittedly or not- will surely get a kick out of this book. What did Tori have to say? Nothing too deep. As much as it pains me to admit it, I liked this book and have newfound sympathy for the bad press she received. I'm glad she finally found true love with Dean McDermott, especially after reading about her past experiences with bad boyfriends. Yes, it's terrible that people got hurt as a result of that union, but that's life for you. I haven't yet seen the independent films, 'Trick' and 'House of Yes,' but I did enjoy 'Tori & Dean: Inn Love' on Oxygen, and thought 'So NoTORIous' on VH1, in which Tori -horseface- played a parody of herself and her life, was pretty funny! She has a great sense of humor.

I love this book! More power to Tori and Dean and thier beautiful children. Tori is a wonderful story teller and really does make you laugh at her life, with her! I watched Tori & Dean, Home Sweet Hollywood tonight and I only felt more stongly about her. She mentioned that her mother hasn't spoken to her since the book was released. You know what, that may be for the best. Read it!

Tori Spelling is a fantastic story teller! She is funny and honest and entertaining. I couldn't put this book down until I had read the last page! And how interesting to read about the whole Shannen Doherty drama. Even though she has led an often pampered lifestyle, Tori explains that money doesn't prepare you for the real world and real life issues with family and relationships. We are all flawed and messy and fantastic all at the same time. I was happy that she ended her story on such a high note. I just love happy endings : )

Reading this now and I am very surprised and delighted by Tori's style of writing. She gives us intimate details of her private life and a lot about her self-confidence (none) while growing up. I have come to admire her through her reality show and hope she writes more books in the future-I would probably even buy a book of hers if she wrote a fiction novel. Highly recommended especially if you were a 90210 fan like I was! =)

Tori Spelling is at best a B-list celebrity, but as a writer, she's the pits. I hope that she was able to clear up her financial woes with this book, because no one will be paying for another! There was a little bit of new information about her life in the book, but she glossed over a lot of the things that I was most interested in. A good PBS swap, but not worth cover price!

I wasn't a Tori Spelling fan when I bought the book. My daughter read it, loved and couldn't stop talking about it. I took her advice and wasn't disappointed.
Ms. Spelling's openness and friendly manner draws the reader in completely. She describes her life's ups and downs with such frankness and humor that I even found myself laughing out loud at one point. Great book. I highly recommend it!

I found this to be a quick easy read. I'm not a Tori Spelling fan, nor do I think she is a bad person. I just never followed any of her shows. I guess what attracted me to this book is all the bad publicity that she gets & the falling out she had with her mom & the rumors of being banned from the family after her dad died. I was curious to hear her side of it. I didn't find her to be whiney or the poor me attitude. I hope her marriage with Dean works out & they have many happy years together.

Got this one from the library, glad I didnt pay for it. It sure isnt worth the cash it says it costs. Yet, I was a fan of 90210 the early seasons...and some until the end but this book didnt really express much about her life or any 90210 inside info or anything that was interesting. Alot of drama about her boyfriends that were losers, except for her true love Dean, which is a torrid one night stand that lasts forever *at least as far as we know*...

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this book. Tori Spelling spills everything in this book about what was going on behind the scenes in the "Spelling Manor". You have heard a lot in the tabloids, but Tori tries to clarify as much possible in her book. I grew so much hatred for her mother just by the stories that were told. You should be glad your mother isn't as cold hearted as hers. This a great book for Tori fans especially if you want to get "some" juicy gossip and simply know more about this talented star.

Since my daughter and I watch her show on tv and really like her I decided to pick up her book.There were a lot of things in her book that I never knew about her.What a sad childhood she had.If you like Tori Spelling then you should read this book.It was a very fascinating read.Im looking forward to reading Mommywood.

She does come off as a little bit spoiled and I think she blames a lot of things on bad luck, that really could be blamed on bad decision making, but overall I like her. The book is funny and it is really cool to get a behind the scenes in Hollywood perspective from a non-tabloid source. She is open and honest and frank throughout the book and I really appreciate that.

This book was alright. I liked getting insight on her divorce and relationship with Dean. She has some pretty irrational fears, but I guess it was her upbringing. This is a good book for what it is, but I would not recommend buying it full price. Get a used copy and you'll get your money's worth.

I've had this sitting around for months and probably wouldn't have read it for many more if my younger sister hadn't read it and liked it a lot. That being said, I'm glad I read it and I did like it. I'm not in any way embarrassed for wanting to read it and having read it.
Tori Spelling is living a life most of us will never ever catch a glimpse of- of course people want to know more about her. My main reason for wanting to read this is because I did always get the sense that she was more down to earth than most celebs. I also wanted to know what her childhood was like because even most high profile celebs don't have as much money as her Daddy did.
I enjoyed learning about Aaron Spelling most I think, behind her childhood stories and her relationship with Dean McDermott. Her mother is pretty close to pure evil and I was able to feel that out years ago- she looks like a block of ice and always has. Some of the situations and conversations that Tori wrote about between her and her mother almost seemed unreal- if you didn't look closely that is. I believe every word she said about her mother (as well as the rest of the book really) and I'd love for Candy to write her own. It's a shame that this woman had so, so much in terms of pretty much everything and still acted/acts like a spoiled brat.

I do also feel the need to mention, since I often joke about my undiagnosed OCD, that OCD doesn't always mean having feelings for a pea left on your plate, feeling like that pea needs a friend, etc. I think that's at one end of the spectrum of OCD- at least in my experience. As of yet, I don't pair my ashtrays so they'll feel together and my mac & cheese noodles can be alone also. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

Last but not least, I just wanted to point out how absolutely "telling" (haha....) it is that the first person she thanks in her acknowledgments is her Father. The second person is........her Nanny. Then, the third person is her Mom. Her Nanny was thanked for making her "into the woman and mom I've become" and to her Mom? "we have our ups and downs but I'll always love you."
Think about the sadness she must have felt and probably still does feel to be at a place where her Mother isn't listed first or second? I think her Mother did irreparable damage to her while she grew up and from the sounds of it, she still is. Without her Nanny I think she'd have been a lot worse off and she actually says as much in the book.

This book is a quick read and is filled with great stories about growing up in Hollywood. There is also a lot about the mother and daughter dynamics. If you like autobiographies this is a great one.
If half the things Tori Spelling says about her mother Candy in sTori Telling are true...Candy is the worst mom - no strike that, Candy is the worst human being ever.

LOVE IT. You can't help but love Tori Spelling, she's so real and so funny. I wasn't a huge Tori fan or anything but you don't have to be you'll still love it. It's voyeristic and honest. If you like her show you'll love her book.

Talk about a book that will make you re-evaluate what you read in the press. I was never a huge Tori Spelling fan. I didn't think she was a great actress and figured she only had a role on 90210 because of her dad. Basically, my opinion was shaped by the media and it was exactly everything they had said about her. How harsh. Then I watched an episode of Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood and everything changed. I saw how real she was, and how funny she was. I thought her and Dean were great together and so cute to watch how in love they are. (Adultery aside...) So of course I wanted to dig deeper and read her books. I read sTori Telling in 2 days. It's hard to put down.

I LOVE Tori Spelling on reality TV (Inn Love & Home Sweet Hollywood). However, she needs to stay away from writing or sharing her story for someone else to write. She sounds like she is PERFECT. I wonder what her idea of perfect is considering some of her comments. Her mom is an adulterer and should be ashamed, but Tori had an affair and it was wrong, but she really did love Dean and look they got married so its not so bad? Her mom, Candy Spelling, sadly communicate to Tori through emails but Tori tells her mother she was engaged by email because she couldnt pick up a phone. Tori swears that shes a grounded person but doesnt think sharing how she and Dean had sex the first day they meet or stating that Deans wife (at the time) tried to cause Dean and Tori to break up by telling Tori that Dean was not a great guy would be upsetting to her step-son. Tori you slept with her husband and now she, the wife, is supposed to tell you how happy she is for you and Dean. She doesnt mind telling you how her ex-husbands family called her a whore after they find out she had an extramarital affair. Those evil people thinking that an affair is wrong (what could be their problem)! Didnt they know you and Dean were going to get married, after planning to go home for 6 months so Dean could make sure that he got his wife all set up to understand that he was leaving her and the kids. Tori winds up sounding vapid, petty, confused, childish, and just plain old stupid.
If you read this book you might think that Tori is a producing, writing, casting prodigy whos father would have never made it without her help. Although she is a GREAT comedic actress (her thoughts not mine) she is always punished because she is Tori Spelling. She is in debt because her mother evicted her from a condo (that Candy was paying for and Tori admits that the little rent money she gave her mother a month did not cover the price of the condo) with a 30 day notice. Of course that meant she had to pay 10 thousand dollars to have movers pack, move and store her stuff. She is also in debt (excuse number 2) because her father never taught her about money. He ex-husband ignored that fact that they were not happy (even though she kept lying to him by acting like she was in love) and therefore it was hard on her to have to tell him that she had an affair. Poor Tori!!!!

Whether you are a Tori Spelling fan or not I recommend this book. I read it in one sitting and really enjoyed learning more about Tori Spelling's life. Sometimes we get too caught up in what a star's doing to think about the fact that they are people like us with hopes, dreams, feelings. I think Tori did a great job showing us that. I will definitely be reading her other books.

Just another feel sorry for me, my parents didn't know how to raise children and it's NOt my fault. Another self absorbed person, who wants people to feel sorry for her. One sided and she didn't share alot of the details of Dean's side of the divorce. She wants to be your friend, but I just felt sad that she made some of her choices.

I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, light, humorous & all around an enjoyable read. It made me want to buy all the Beverly Hills 90210 season's on DVD too.
I love a book of its reported kind, but it lacked, well, a story. It was interesting to read about her struggles, but much seemed inauthentic as well as just boring. Just a bit too "cutesy" for me. Would not recommend.

I didn't know much about Tori Spelling prior to this book, but I wanted a light funny biography-type book for an 'easy read'. She writes with honesty and humor and I couldn't put it down. You only hear bits and pieces and later have to put it together yourself if you can and remember. Glad I didn`t buy it outright and waited for a swap. Not worth the money I would have spend on it.

This book was not what I expected but in a good way! I thought it was going to be a story of "Poor me, my dad was rich and I didn't get taken care of when he died." I basically thought it was going to be a pity party book. Surprisingly it wasn't. Tori Spelling is quite candid about her relationship with her parents and her life thus far even sharing the fact that when she met her current husband both were married to other people.
Definitely a chick lit. book but a light and entertaining way to see the life of this celeb.
Definitely a chick lit. book but a light and entertaining way to see the life of this celeb.

I love Tori Spelling and this book gives you a look inside her life before she married Dean. I must say this book made me strongly dislike her mother Candy. Although it is nearly 300pgs it only took a fea hours to read. Must read for any Tori fan!
I've always liked Tori Spelling. Even though she came from Hollywood royalty, she never came across to me as a spolied rich kid (and we all know there are PLENTY of those out there). She may have gotten her part on 90210 because of her father, but she made that bit part into a key role in the show - and she stayed with the show till the bitter end. She's made mistakes in her life - big and small - and she has flaws, but she freely admits to them.
After reading this book, I like her even more. This is a very candid, but never lurid, re-telling of her life from childhood through the birth of her son and the first year of her show Tori and Dean - Inn Love. Even though I'm a fan of her reality show and have probably seen every episode, the info in this book was almost all new to me.
One of the things I liked most about the book is that it's mostly about the relationships in her life - good and bad. Relationships with her family (father, mother, brother and beloved nanny), her boyfriends, her close circle of friends most of who are not in show-biz, her failed first marraige and finally her current husband Dean and son Liam. I'm a skeptic and believe that there a little "spin" in every memoir, but it certainly didn't feel like that here.
It probably says something that there are three pages of acknowledgements at the back of the book. Tori knows who helped her get to where she is, and gives credit where credit is due.

I read this in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. Any fan of Tori Spelling will enjoy her wit and charm as she takes the reader through the stories of her life.
Love all her books and the "real" way she writes them as if she is telling you the story sitting next to you on a couch..
Love It! A must read for any of her fans..Can't wait to read the next one!
It is a easy read and very fun.
I thought I liked Tori Spelling but this book proved me wrong. All she does is pity herself. Although she is a woman in her thirties, she comes off as a teenager. She says she was broke because she would drop 50k at a time at stores, come on it's common sense, especially when she writes that her parents would never loan her money her whole life. Also she cries about only receiving 400k from her dad and that she know has to work her butt off while pregnant. what?!? she's clearly has no concept of the real world.
I never knew anything about Tori before I read this book, other then what I had heard in the media about a fued with her mom. I found her life story extremely interesting and I found her to be very real. Her book flowed so well that it was a very fast read. She really has a talent for writing. Bottomline it was a great book and I would highly recommend it!
This book was given to me by a friend. It was ok, at times I found myself rolling my eyes.Then other times I was feeling sorry for her. If you need a quick read on an airplane this is the book.
I'm currently reading it and i am enjoying it a great deal.
