This book was about a young Native Alaskan lady who loved a Native man of Alaska. The man went off to war, she wanted to wait for him, instead, her parents had other ideas for her. Her father worked with another young man, who was not Native Alaskan, but was Irish. The young lady (Mary) had no interest in the Irishman (Sean), but her parents, suggested they begin to court and eventually marry.
Since Sean could not go off to war due to an injury, he was sent to a reclusive island. Mary absolutely did not want to leave her family in whom she was very close to. But, her mother continued to encourage Mary that she should do as her husband suggested and go to the island. On the island, Mary and Sean find many surprises and must find a way to survive the horrible weather and storms.
This Christian inspirational book was very good. I really recommend it, and although I thought it a bit corney initially, it is just a good old fashioned romance. Corney huh?
