As usual, Clive Cussler delivers another exciting adventure that's so fun to read. I admit that towards the end, when many different components were in play and there were short jumps from one to the next, I got a little confused. But I still very much enjoyed the book and couldn't wait to pick it up each time to read more!

The second of the Oregon Files series. The book has a slow start and a style that makes it feel as though the action takes place over a longer period of time than it actually does.
Cussler and Dirgo create characters that you can enjoy and respect over the series of books as well as situations you wish that someone in the world would handle in such creatively compassionate ways (not to say the bad guys don't get what's coming to them).

In the remote wastes of Greenland, a young scientist has unearthed an artifact hidden in a cave for a millennium - a 50,000 year old meteorite known as the Sacred Stone, which possesses potentially ctastrophic radioactive power. But the astounding find places him in the crosshairs of two opposing terrorist groups who seek the stone for themselves.
This is a classical Cussler novel. Very good.

Not the best Oregon files story, but a good read anyway.
This is the second novel in the Oregon Files series featuring Juan Cabrillo as the chairman of the Corporation, a group of ex-military and intelligence operatives who hire themselves out to countries and individuals needing specialized services--"a private army of mercenaries with a conscience." Good plot, very pleasant read.
Classic Cussler: The Oregon team is the best, honest non stop action, and as the way it should be the good guy's not only win they kick butt.

Cussler does it again, good read though a bit different than the Pitt series as this book seems to jump around a bit.
If you like Clove Cussler then this is a book for you. An ancient power has been discovered. Two terrorist organizations seek it for their own uses. Juan Cabrillo is the only one who can stop them.......
as with all Cussler books - great read
Fast paced and one of the best. A must read for those who love to see a big operation planned and well executed.
Great adventure read by the author of the Dirk Pitt novels.
In the remote wastes of Greenland, a young scientist has unearthed an artifact hidden in a cave for a millinnium--a 50,000-year-old meteorite known as the Scared Stone, which possesses potentially catastrophic radioactive power. But the astounding find places him in the crosshairs of two opposing terrorist groups who seek the stone for their own purposes.
One is a group of Muslim extremists who have stolen a nuclear device. With the power of the meteorite, they could vaporize any city in the West. The other group is led by a meglomaniacal industrialist who seeks to carry out the utter annihilation of Islam itself.
Caught between two militant factions bent on wholesale slaughter, Juan Cabrillo and his ship, the Oregon, crewed by high-tech mercenaries known as the Corporation must fight to protect the Sacred Stone--and prevent the outbreak of World War III.

I thought this was a pretty good book.

Clive Cusslers life nearly parallels that of his hero Dirk Pitt. Whether searching for lost aircraft or leading expeditions to find famous shipwrecks, he has garnered an amazing record of success. With his NUMA crew of volunteers, Cussler has disciovered more than seventy lost ships of historical significance, including the long-lost Confederate submarine Hunley.

Book Description
Clive Cussler debuted his new series, The Oregon Files, with the incredible adventure of Golden Buddha. Now he follows that triumph with Sacred Stone, a rollicking new tale featuring the enigmatic captain of The Oregon, Juan Cabrillo.

Caught between two militant factions bent on wholesale slaughter, Juan Cabrillo and his network of spies known as The Corporation must fight to protect the stone-and prevent the outbreak of World War III.
My Review
This is the 2nd book in the Oregon Files and was a very enjoyable read. It is easier to follow the plot and more interesting than the first book, The Golden Buddha. The only problem I had with this book was that some of the incidents seemed a bit unrealistic. Even with this problem, I would have to say that the book still is a great adventure read. The characters are unique and the plot is exciting. I will definitely continue with this series and look forward to reading the next installment.

Another good book by Clive Cussler
This is one of the few Cussler books I was really disappointed in. The story shows how much America kotows to the Islamic religion and he carries on with it till you get sick of it. I haven't read a Cussler novel since then and doubt that I will read anymore of his books. They could care less about our Christian religion but we don't want to offend them in anyway and his book went to extremes not to offend them. Sorry not my cup of tea.
Continues Cussler's dominace of the genre. One can always count on a fast paced adventure when Cussler brings out a book.
Only wish they lasted longer.
