These books are absolutely fabulous. They help bring the American Girl stories to life for both my children. I am actually using them as part of a history unit study for my daughter along with the story books, craft books, mini-dolls, and mini-magnetic world. They are perfect for helping your children with their math and reading without them even knowing it! As you can tell, we love them!

Girls like Samantha would learn about etiquette as well as managing a household. Learn about the recipes that were common in the early 1900's as well as the inventions of the time and plan a tea party for your friends (and dolls). What a great way to compare the many changes that have occurred over the years. Recipes include breakfast (Cheese omelet, blueberry muffins & more), Dinner (Cream of Carrot Soup, Roasted Beef Tenderloin) and favorite foods (Cream Cheese & Walnut Sandwiches, Chicken Salad Sandwiches, Lemon Ice) and more. A fun way to learn about the past.

My girls enjoyed this book, but have outgrown it.
