If you like other series romance novels by Rochelle Alers, you will like Sanctuary Cove. Ms. Alers starts out slow in this novel, and like most romance novels Sanctuary Cove is pretty predictable. However, the author does a great job with character development, plot and Ms. Alers does a great job describing the Carolina lowcountry in this book and capturing some of the characteristics of the Gullah people. In addition, her writing about a small town and people who inhabit them is great. The two main characters, Deborah and Asa, as well as the supporting characters -- the townsfolk, the heroine's children -- are well rounded. If you are looking for a quick, well written book with great characters, but a predictable storyline, then read Sanctuary Cove.
