GREAT book for sandplay therapists and school counselors who wish to do sandplay work in their offices for students. It is a great beginner's guide to understanding symbol work, as well the history and rationale for sandplay therapy. This books does a phenomenal job of explaining how the client processes and experiences sandplay therapy, as well as the role of the therapist. If I taught sandplay therapy as a graduate course, I would use this book to teach! If you are a therapist considering to learn how to do sandplay, start with this book!
