Heart-warming story of a lost puppy and the boys that help him. Appropriate for 4th - 6th graders.
This author knows his dogs. The canine hero is always a dog, never acting like a human - which makes the story all the more enchanting.
"He was just a puppy when he found himself alone. Cold and alone in the dead of winter. He needed food, and water, and a warm place to sleep. He needed to find a way to survive by himself.
But who had rescued a drowning boy, found a blind girl's wallet, and helped a family to escape from a burning house? Could it be the lost puppy?"
It was Christmas and he had nowhere to go.

These books have a cute story. I do like the characters and the plots, but the author goes off on random diatribes in each one of the books which makes it very difficult for a young advanced reader to get through (not to mention a mother trying to read it out loud...). I will admit, you will learn random useless facts throughout the story and Santa Paws will not disappoint you in your quest to find a super dog.
I don't usually read children's books but the cover was so intriguing. This is about a puppy who was left alone and became the hero of the town by doing several heroic deeds. Great read even for adults!
