This book has remarkable world building, believable characters who grow along wtih the story, and great questions about who and what a monster really is. I don't usually read YA, but this story really impressed me with its mix of page-turning energy and thoughtfulness.

I love this book! It is so unique and so clever. I have never read anything quite like it. It is told from the prelude to the elegy and the verses in between, but don't let that fool you. It is a savage song and brutal in places, but it is touching and human, too. I want to read the next one now!
