Only for Lori Wilde fans. I didn't expect this to be great but maybe an easy beach read. It was actually OK until about halfway through. Then it went downhill pretty fast and limped to a lackluster close. The "alternate ending" tucked in at the end was a cute idea - one I'd love to see used in some other books - but a waste of time for this.

Allegheny "Ally" Green has spent her entire life being the voice of reason in Clover Leaf, Texas. Between her family and her nursing job at the local hospital, Ally's hands are too full for things like everlasting love and personal fulfillment. After all, when your aunt chats with the deceased and your sister shoots her cheating boyfriend in the foot, someone has to pay the bail.

Then dead bodies start turning up including her sister Sissy's ex. And when Sissy herself becomes the sheriff's number one suspect, it's up to Ally to save the day yet again. All she has to do is track down a murderer, save her sister, avoid any romantic notions involving the sheriff and find a life of her own.

Simple, really.

Another wonderfully human, funny and ridiculous Wilde book. The "normal" member of a nutty family, Allegheny Alison Green is completely clueless. She bears the burdens of her eccentric family until the WOW! new sheriff arrives at her house to investigate a shooting. Bodies turn up, more goofy characters evolve and Ally gets her groove back.
Hard to give this one up, but I'm being very disciplined.

A romance (which I generally do not read) for one with a twist. Murders are being committed and it appears Allegheny's sister, Sistine, has committed them. It is up to Ally to step in, as usual, and take care of things. Complicating things is the new sheriff in town.....Sam. I liked the characters and it moved along quickly.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I am not sure I would have bought it based on the cover, so give it a try!

Ally Green is so busy fixing everyone else's lives, she has no time for her own. I loved the characters of her sister and aunt, but I wish their had been a little more romance between her and the hero!

Allegheny has spent her entire life being the voice of reason. Now it's her turn. All she has to do is track down a murderer, save her sister, avoid any romantic notions involving the sheriff(who wants to arrest her sister for murder) and find a life of her own.
