First book I've read by Gohlke and I wouldn't hesitate to read another.
Story centers around Rachael Kramer, a young women who wants to pursue an acting career, when she has to go with her father, a eugenics researcher, to Germany. Once there she meets with Christine, an old friend who begs for her help. Christine is afraid that her daughter, who is deaf, is in danger because of her Aryan husband, SS officer Gerhardt Schlick, who like Hitler, has horrific plans those whom the regime deems unworthy of life.
An exciting read. I recommend.
