I've never seen any book written quite like this one. Francine braids two stories into one. While Sierra is struggling with changes in her life, she reads about and finds comfort in an ancestors diary - Mary Kathryn. Uniquely written with a powerful message in the end.

This was a great book and brought together 2 ladies from different eras. A journal helps a women with her marriage problems and she comes to know God thought her struggles.

When I read Francine Rivers' first series, The Mark of the Lion, I set the bar high for what I expected of her other books. Let's just say that I was NOT disappointed! I love EVERYTHING about The Scarlet Thread -- especially the parallel tales of Sierra and Mary Kathryn set centuries apart. Rivers' narratives flow beautifully, and the central messages of God's unfailing love, His desire for us to hear His voice and accept His Son as Savior, and His desire for us to then allow our relationship with Him to be first in order to love others flood my heart anew!

This book was a good read. However, the beginning was so slow and I became so annoyed at the immaturity of the main character, that I put it aside. I only picked it up again because I didn't have anything else to read. I am glad I did because the story really gains momentum and finally grabbed my attention. The book has a wonderful message. My suggestion: keep reading. You'll be glad you did.

My least favorite of the Francine Rivers' books, but still a great read. In perspective, being my least favorite of her books still places it well above most everything else I've read. This is a modern day story and I tend to lean toward historical stories.

Great book. Francine Rivers has done a great job with this book. She is a great christian author. I loved the story and hope to read more of hers.
Francine Rivers is an amazing writer, and I always enjoy her books. This one was no exception. It took me a while to warm up to the story within the story, but it did grow on me. I was more interested in Serena's story. If you like Francine Rivers, you should like this book.
Great writing with a wonderful message and a great ending! I think this would be an excellent book club read because of the marriage issues and the spiritual journey. It even has discussion questions in the back!

Wow is all I can say. Her character development is amazing. The booked tugged at my emotions and helped me to really examine my attitudes and relationship with my own husband. The insiders look at an adulterers heart was gut wrenching.
Definitely not her best work...feels like a made for Hallmark movie but fairly entertaining for a light read.

I enjoyed this book. At times it was kind of hard to grasp the common ground between the 2 main characters but really pretty good. I just started reading Francine Rivers books and love her books. Its such a blessing to find some Christian reading material.

I thought this book was alright, but not the best book by Francine Rivers that I've ever read. It tells the story of a woman going through a divorce who finds a journal from one of her ancestors, and it helps her to read about her experiences. A nice book, but not life-changing.
A story of a young lady who's world changes very quickly and she doesn't know where to turn to. She finds an old journal that helps turn her eventually towards God and bring balance back to her life.
this book was so touching and could relate to so many lives. I learned so much and it warmed my heart. This is the first book that i have read from Francis Rivers and i can not wait to read more.
