This was a better-than-average attempt at a sequel, and considering that it was not written by the author of the original, it's pretty good. However, it does not rise to the level of the original. Gone With the Wind is true literature - wonderful, readable literature, but literature nonetheless. This book is ... not. Few sequels can stand up to the original, and this one is no exception. It's a fun read, but it doesn't have the depth and breadth of the original.

This book reads exactly like what it is: a lengthy fanfiction. There never should've been a sequel, because nobody on the planet can do justice to Margaret Mitchell's book.

Everyone told me not to bother with this book but I found it at the thrift store for a quarter and figured, what the heck. I completely loved it. It was Scarlett to a T. It had adventures and predicaments and Scarlett being Scarlett. Since I didn't expect much I didn't mind that Rhett isn't around in most of the book. Besides, when he is there, it's him to a T and he's wonderful. This book is about Scarlett growing up. I highly recommend it.

Oh, I wish PBS had been around when this book came out! I wouldn't have wasted my money on it, then.

For anyone whoever read the first and original" Gone With The Wind" I am sure that they found this book a big disappointment as much as I did. The movie for this book was a joke too. I do not recommend it at all.

I found that I didn't care enough about what happened to Scarlett to try to read almost 900 pages of very small print.

I could not put this book down. I read GWTW and Scarlett back to back and I loved them both.

I was a little skeptical at first when I realized that this book was written by another author other then Margaret Mitchell, but as I read I was amazed. This book is almost as good or equal to Gone With the Wind. I love it!

It's an interesting read and not a terrible book on its own however, it definitely did not do GWTW justice and I'd only recommend it if you can disconnect it from it's predecessor. I often found myself thinking "Would Scarlett really do that?" or same for Rhett. To its credit, I don't necessarily believe any sequel could've stood up to the original. Read at your own risk!

I absolutely Loved this book! I love where she goes with the story and think anyone that liked Gone with the Wind will equally like this one, despite being a different author.

The plot doesn't seem to move along as fast as Gone With the Wind.

This would have been a wonderful book but the EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE word âGDâ using GOD's name in vain, was used well into the book! That was very disappointing and I will not finish these cassettes! NO STARS if it would let me but I have to rate with at least one star!

I enjoyed going back to Tara and the South, and reading about the adventures that Scarlett experiences in the book. A great sequel to the masterpiece Gone With the Wind.
