childrens short scary stories

A few of the stories in this book left you saying "huh?", but all-in-all, it's a great book to read around a campfire at night or maybe on an evening hayride (especially at Halloween). Many of the stories have notation in () telling the reader to scream or yell 'boo' to make listeners jump, but they aren't so scary they'll leave kids having nightmares. The back cover recommends the book for ages 9 and up, and for the most part, I agree with that, with the exception of a handful of tales that could be read to slightly younger audiences.
Excellent stories (Great for reading during October) - Also the artwork is very good and I appreciate how quick the reads are.
Yes, another one of my collection of Scouting campfire storybooks.

Wow! This brings back the memories. I read these as a child and my teacher would read them to us on those days when it was just too danged hot to do anything productive. The stories are all super creepy, as are the illustrations.
Excellent for teens! Great for sleepovers and campouts!
