1st in a new series by India Ink (aka: Yasmine Galenorn). Very well done, nice bath and body recipes, quirky characters and a different setting from the typical cozy. I whipped right thorugh this one and loved every minute. I like this series even more than her Chintz & China mysteries. The main character is very likeable and so are the supporting characters, and she doesn't go overboard with the paranormal occurances like some of the Chintz & China ones. There was a hint of the paranormal to this one, but it seemed just right and very believable.

An obnoxious teen age beauty queen is killed at the local bath and body shop in Washington state. Persia feels obligated to investigate since not only did the murder occurred in her aunt's (who raised her)store, but Trevor, an employee who dated the beauty queen, is the prime suspect.

New series for me. Main character is a transplant from Seattle..complete with tatoos and body piercing and a black belt in martial arts...works for her aunt mixing perfumes for her shop. Slight references to occult, ghosts, etc., but no real overtones of paranormal. Just your plain old murder who done-it. Highly recommended. Enjoy

Highly Enjoyable mystery that I finished in just one sitting! Persia works for her Auntie in a bath store where one of her clients is found murdered. Persia works to reveal the truth in order to clear her employee's name.
This is a fun cozy with a tight plot and very likeable characters. I liked the way the writer uses descriptive writing. The plot moved smoothly and and kept me guessing until the final reveal. Cannont wait to start on the next in the series!

The 1st book in the series. Main character very strong and independent There are a couple of swear words in case there are those who would prefer a book without them. I love Ms. Ink's descriptive writing, especially when she talks about food. As with all cozies this is a quick read.

Meet Persia, fresh from Seattle, she has decided to move back in with her Aunt and begin working at Venus Envy (her aunt's boutique) using her sensitive nose to build the business with beautiful scents tailored to your body's chemistry. Things look great, until the place gets robbed and the only clue to who may have done it is the dead body on the floor of the store. Not so helpful. As if that isn't enough, the boy she dissed in her school days grew up to be...yep, the Chief of Police. And yeah, he held a grudge. Would be bad enough on it's own, but her ex-boyfriend is out of jail and wants to rekindle the old flames...so much so that he decides to move closer...much, much closer. So, while working to clear up the who-dunnit surrounding the murder that took place in her store, keep the store from losing customers because of the scandal involved, and working things out with the local police, she has her hands full. Not so full that she can't try to squeak in a dating life with a new hottie though. But, when a storm blows him overboard while he was working on his boat just before their first date, she has plenty to keep herself pre-occupied with...including stun guns, missing artwork, and another murder...oh my!

Strong characters, surprising plot twists, I really enjoyed this book. I did guess the correct killer early in the story, but I wasn't 100% sure and doubted myself a couple of times. Regardless, this is a great story and if the rest of the books are as good, I'm a devoted reader!

Persia moves to Gull Harbor after breaking up with her boyfriend in nearby Seattle. She moves back home with her Aunt Florence, who owns a bath-and-beauty shop named "Venus Envy". Persia loves to mix oils into beautiful scents for their customers. Before long, she finds herself investigating on her own, a murder that takes place inside their shop. An interesting mystery evolves with Persia herself coming face-to-face with the murderer. I enjoyed the characters,atmosphere, and the few recipes for scented oils and bath salts included in the book. This is a series that I will continue to follow.

Hm... well, not a bad first book in a series for a new author - unfortunately India Ink is a pen name for Yasmine Galenorn, author of the Chintz 'n' China series. Honestly, I'd recommend that series first. This isn't a bad book, but it's a bit cliche ridden, the supporting characters are far more interesting and entertaining than the protagonist and love interest and the resolution to the mystery is no big surprise to anyone after the first 75 pages. I've got the second in the series on the way and I plan to read it, but I was expecting more from this book than I received.

Great first book in a cozy! Made me really want to find a store that sells essential oils. A whodunit that me guessing until the end.
1st in the series. The characters and the setting were OK. The story was a little slow. I'm going to read the second book and hopefully I will get more attached to the characters.

I enjoyed this book. Besides a murder or two, the wrong suspect, and slight attempts at romance, it had a few aromatherapy recipes thrown in for fun.
Also the characters were well developed and things fell into place nicely. It had a cozy feeling and ripe with entertainment.

Antagonist is very egotistical and self-centered. Don't know if I want to read this author again. Very disappointing since I waited a long time for this book.
