This second book in the Maze Runner series is no less addictive than the first. The survivors from The Maze Runner now find themselves in an even worse situation than the first book. Instead of trying to find their way through a seemingly unsolvable maze, they have to make their way 100 miles across a scorched landscape populated by people who are slowly losing their minds. This is just another way that WICKED is using them, but to what end?
Expect another wild ride with another cliff-hanged leading into the third and final (?) book.

This series has me torn: on one hand, I'm desperate to know the story behind this complicated experiment, but I'm having difficulty wrapping my head around this exceedingly complex experiment.
Please see my review of book 1...this is a continuation:
Senseless & frustrating. I threw the book at the wall at one point. I am caught by WICKED being forced to read this "shit!" Sigh. Fine, I finished it. Got to be able to talk to the kid, ya know?!
So, why is this just stupid? Well, let's start with this: you have a bunch of infected insane people with no cure...so obviously we should just let them run around & do whatever they want. That's smart! Can't really see that happening, no matter how many get infected. Humans are very good at killing what scares the "shit" out of them.

This book is equally as good as the first. There were just more questions on top or questions on top of questions. Once again you get sucked into this world with the remaining Gladders. You don't know who to trust, who to believe, where to go next. What is wicked up to? Can Thomas and the Gladders trust them? Which of them will make it through the scorch trials?!
This is book two of the Maze Runner series and it was well done, but seemed a bit slow at times, but all in all a good read. I will read the next one...
As with the maze runner, I reallly liked the beginning. I liked finding out about the parallel of the girls, tho I was getting kinda bored with the redundant killing threats and running, and lies and blah, blah, blah. Oh and those stupid griever wannabes at the end. Really? Lets have a sequel, not an identical....
Im one of those geeks that needs closure tho, so I WILL be finishing up this silly series. I guess it is entertaining, and reading it with a friend or group definitely makes it more fun.

Not nearly as good as the first book. I was slightly bored with it. And Thomas sleeps practically the whole book!!!!
A bit harder to grasp as real than Maze Runner... Too many coincidences.
So good!
So much better than "the Maze Runner" in my opinion. I was on the edge of my seat and couldn't put this book down.
Absolutely loved this book! Way better than the first by far. The movie they made for this book was an epic fail compared to the adventure I just left in the actual book itself.
