This is a thriller from the Middle East. The author has worked through three decades for 4 presidents, the State Dept and Pentagon. He traveled through the Middle East, visiting palaces, Military bases, intelligence centers, meeting rulers, soldiers and spies. Much of what he experiences is in this book. The author Richard a. Clarke, makes the following statement," Fiction can often the truth better than non-Fiction. And there is a lot of truth that needs to be told".

It seems to me that the author is telling us that we need to read this book because we can not tell the truth of what is happening in the Middle East without a war. I believe that that is a warning to us. I also believe that we need to read this book and not necessarily discard it as fiction.

Great story of political intrigue in the Middle East. How close to the truth about starting a war in the gulf does it come? Given all the author's career in defence, I'd say its pretty accurate!
