I thought this was going to be a book about the lives of men who live and work on offshore oil rigs. Instead, it is a book about the author who quits her job, moves to interview oil rig workers, has an affair with a married oil rig worker, gets depressed when they break up and drinks even more alcohol and does even more drugs. The cover is beautiful and sometimes her writing is inspiring. She never steps foot on an oil rig and I'm left knowing more about her sex life than the oil industry.
