This was a lovely sequel to read after Mrs. Mike. Though it lacks some of the wilderness excitement of the first book, there is plenty of wartime drama and well-drawn characters to keep the story going. Like the first book, this is a nice "clean" romance, and would also appeal to readers interested in historical fiction, or First Nation (Canadian Native American) characters.

This sequel to "Mrs Mike" follows her adopted daughter, Kathy, through nurse's training and awakening romance during WWII, but it lacks the emotional resonance of the original.
