A great start to the Everworld series, suitable for both teens and adults. A group of four teens get drawn into an alternate reality along with a girl named Senna. Senna is nowhere to be found when they emerge on the other side, thus the "search" part. I really like this series, more than I thought I would. It combines alternate reality with world mythologies, and has a lot of action. They are very easy, fast-paced reads, and the books end on cliffhangers, so if you like the first one make sure that you have the others in reserve. You'll thank yourself later.

This is an excellent introduction to K.A. Applegate's EverWorld series. The author, who enthralled a younger audience with her popular Animorphs series, shows off her knack for world-building once again. A motley crew of high schoolers are unwittingly dragged into another world where world history and mythology come to life in dangerous detail.

Very typical boy-meets-girl, girl-falls-into-an-alternate-dimension, boy-has-to-rescue-her.

"David, will you save me?"

Senna is the most popular girl in school. And David, the least popular kid, is absolutely in love with her. There's something about her that doesn't seem to fit in with everything else in David's world and that's just fine with him, until he finds her at the end of the pier in the wee hours of the morning. Why he's there, he doesn't know but there are others. Christopher, class clown and Senna's ex-boyfriend. Jalil, brainiac and logical to a fault. April, aspiring actress and Senna's half sister. They're all there, watching Senna. When the wolf appears and snatches her away, all four immediately charge into action but aren't prepared for what happens when they wake up in another realm, one where gods rule and the stuff of stories walk the earth.

The concept of this book is intriguing: an another world (or dimension) where the ancient gods and their followers live. Loki, Odin, Ra and the Aztecs are all there, fighting one another for dominance.

Pretty cool! Then they threw in aliens. WTH?

This book was such a fast read that I thought they should have compiled the first three in the series into one book. Not sure if I will read the others...it's an interesting idea and the writing is good enough. Maybe.

I read the series in highschool, and though it was a quick read, it was really fantastic! It's wonderfully imagantive and adventurous. Great plot with equally good twists. I recommended it to my friends while I was reading it, and I was still recommend it today.

I just finished the first book in the Everworld series and I loved it! I cannot wait to read the next one. It's about 4 teens who get sucked into this other world called Everworld. There they are looking for another friend that was pulled in right before them. While they are looking for her they are also trying to make sense of everything around them, trying to stay alive and find a way home. This book is a very easy read and very fast paced. I totally enjoyed it!

Beginning this series, one discovers an alternate world to which five human teenagers are transported. The five are individually interesting, each in his or her own way. The catalyst is Senna Wales, a young woman who has magical powers. When Fenrir, a huge wolf, captures Senna for EverWorld, the other four are pulled along into that world.

In this first book of the series we also meet David, who wants to be a hero, lead and save everyone, especially Senna. Christopher is the lighthearted member of the group. always putting a light picture on whatever is happening with his cryptic jokes, sometimes funny, sometimes not. April is Senna's stepsister, a seriious and thoughtful young woman who loves theater. Finally, we have Jalil, the thoughtful and deep young man.

The group is transported from their real lives to EverWorld in no apparent pattern. And that world is inhabited by Gods who have left Earth to create their own space. There are fanciful creatures and people of myth all of whom minggle and encounter the teenagers. So begins the adventures in EverWorld.

David's life was pretty normal. School. Friends. Girlfriend. Actually, Senna was probably the oddest aspect of his life. She was beautiful. Smart. But there was something very different about her. Something strange. And on the day it began, everything happened so quickly. One moment, Senna was with him. The next, she was swallowed up by the earth. Her screams echoing from far, far away. David couldn't just let her go. Neither could the others. His friends â and hers. So, they followed. And found themselves in a world they never could have imagined. Now they have to find Senna and get home without losing their lives. Or their minds. Or both...

Totally ridiculous and beyond stupid. And to think it is a series with 12 books. Who is reading this crap and why?
