I'm really enjoying this series. I read this book in one day. A light read, fun and light-hearted. Characters are relatable. I totally love Morwen the Witch and her cats. She's so no-nonsense. I love the wit and sarcasm the characters sometimes have. Very cute!

My kids and I love this series. This book even had a little romance thrown in for the girls. ;)

"Dragon-napping, magic-stealing?
The Cast: an un-ordinary king, and an extra-ordinary princess, a couple of kooky giants, an overzealous magician, a loyal and helpful witch, and a host of evil and dangerous wizards.
The instruments: A broken-down magic carpet, a leaking magical sword, and a few buckets of soapy lemon water.
The problem: dragon-napping and magic-stealing.
And so the story begins, one fine day while Kin Mendanbar is taking a casual stroll through the Enchanted Forest....."

A great 2nd book in this fun and easy to read series. I love the personality of the characters, they all really show their colors in this book. The magical "rules" and ways in the story, they're too fun to not like. Ready to read the 3rd book!

A pleasant second book from the Enchanted Forest series! The king of the Enchanted Forest has a problem happening and goes searching for the king of the dragons and ends up meeting Cimorene and finds an adventure in store! It was a bit cheesy at times but it was still really cute. I liked the first book more, but I do adore the character development of learning about King Mendanbar. We meet other new people and see old friends show up too.
Simple, but fun and good hearted
In the second installment of the enchanted forest chronicles, the book was good. The return of Cimorene the rebel princess, Kazul now king of the dragons, Morwen the witch, and introductions to new characters kept the story moving and changing. My only complaint, the book started out alittle slow. It introduced some new characters, which seemed to take up a couple of chapters in the beginning. But, hang in there... you begin to wonder what will happen in the later chapters? Its a great fantasy adventure story for kids. As well as fun and light reading for adults. If you like a variety of characters and fun story, then you will enjoy this book!

The second in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles written by Patricia C. Wrede, Searching for Dragons, was nominated for the Rebecca Caudill Young Reader's Book Award Nominee (1994). It's a good story for young readers.
Mendanbar, king of the Enchanted Forest, has a problem. Something or someone has destroyed a circle in the forest, including the magic. When the king arrives to confer with Kazul, king of the dragons, he discovers that Cimorene is worried because Kazul is overdue from a trip. The two set off to trace Kazul's path. They meet two giants, a dwarf who spins straw into gold and a magician.
Kazul has been captured and is held imprisoned by the wizards who are taking magic from the forest. Mendanbar, Cimorene, the magician and Morwen, a friendly and lovely witch are seeking the wizards. They must battle them to free Kazul. The trick is how to remove the wizards, perhaps using soapy water with lemon, and then free Kazul. During this adventure Cimorene and Mendanbar develop a close relationship.

Love this book. Read several times. Incorporates old fairy tale creatures with these new characters.
