Julie and and Laura are sisters. Both are abducted by aliens. Only Laura has reoccuring nightmares. Val, one of the aliens, is really interested as to why Julie is able to resist the testing. Patrick works alongside Julie. Patrick lives a fast lifestyle of women and drugs. He has a heart attack and Val is able to take over his body and we have a new & improved Patrick. Can Julie really beleive her sisters stories of being abducted?
I'll have to honestly admit the book was "meh". The first half was VERY boring and confusing. The scenes between the main characters and the going ons on the space ship diin't flow and were rather confusing at times. I stuck it out. I'd say after the initial set up of all the characters the book finally was enjoyable.

Realtor Julie Ferris and her sister Laura are enjoying their day relaxing in a private cove on Malibu Beach owned by friend and client Owen Mallory when both discuss hearing and not hearing an odd buzzing sound that seems everywhere and nowhere. They fail to complete their chart as each has an urge to take a nap.
Not long afterward, the siblings feel plagued by that lost day that neither can fully recall. Since their day at the beach Julie, who rarely had a headache, suffers from crippling migraines and remembers only falling asleep; while Laura suffers from nightmares of an alien abduction.
Meanwhile at the real estate office, realtor Patrick Donovan recovers from a cocaine heart attack that changes him from a drug using philander into a considerate person who wants Julie as his lover. Julie is stunned by the makeover and her attraction to the newly improved Patrick, but rationalizes that the near fatal heart attack warned Patrick that he can no longer abuse his body. However, she soon realizes that extraterrestrial Val Zarkazian has taken possession of Patrick's body; he has fallen in love with the earthling, but must leave and when he does Patrick's body will die just like the man's soul has already did.
SEASONS OF STRANGERS is a well written but odd paranormal romance as readers will need to adapt to a male lead body snatcher. The fast-paced story line hooks the audience from that eerie opening scene on Malibu Beach and never slows down as Julie begins to ponder the impossible by connecting the dots. Sub-genre fans will enjoy Kat Martin's third paranormal book when they fall in love with non-traditional males (see SCENT OF ROSES and THE SUMMIT).

I couldn't finish reading this book. The writing was great and the characters were interesting but I just couldn't force myself to finish it. You find out rather quickly (which is why i'm putting it in the review) that Julie and her sister Laura were abducted by aliens. This might be a fantastic suspenseful ending and I'm missing the best book ever but I was growing more and more irritated by the plot line as it went along. If you like stories like that you should like the book.

I'm not really into paranormal romances, so this wasn't one of my favorite books. It was well written and easy to follow, just not my cup of tea.

This was the first of the Kat Martin "paranormal" books I have read. I read the other reviews of the book with concern, but I love Kat Martin and still requested it.
I think the beginning of the book is a bit of a challenge, because there's a lot of exposition and set-up so that a) the concept seems plausible and b) you understand the motivations of the characters later in the book. I won't lie - I did a lot of skimming of the first, oh, 100 pages of the book.
Plus, Ms. Martin always seems to include (usually mid-book, in my opinion) her historic/scientific/topical research in one of two fat chapter glops. There are two of them related to UFOs in this book; I skimmed those chapters and never needed to return back to the content because I'd 'missed' something. It seems like she's writing to get extra-credit. Don't worry, Ms. Martin - I know you did your research before you wrote the book...
If you get over those portions, though, it's an easy read, which more or less reads like a Kat Martin romance (hot guy with beautiful eyes realizes the meaning of love of the good woman when it is seemingly too late).
