This is the first MHC book I've read. It was definitely a good read. There are 2 plots going on in this story and both were good. Nicholas Spencer is developing an anticancer vaccine but then disappears and millions of dollars are missing from the company. Carley DeCarlo is a reporter who is assigned to the case. She doesn't believe that Nicholas was a con man who swindled people out of money to invest in the Gen-Stone Pharmaceutical company. She also believes after investigations that someone in Gen-Stone was purposely sabotaging the anticancer vaccine.
To make matters more interesting there is a psychopath on the loose. Ned's wife died in a horrible accident and he believes Nicholas Spencer and everyone connected is to blame. Ned sold his house and invested money into Gen-Stone and then lost everything when the scandal came out. How many people will he hurt or kill before he can be stopped?

A reporter must find out if the missing CEO is dead or has disappeared with the life savings of his employees. Too complicate matters, his wife is the reporter's step-sister. Typical Mary Higgins Clark.
