I really like these reprinted British Golden Age Mystery novels. Miles Burton is especially good and I hope there are more of his books issued. British Detective-Inspector Young calls in his pal the brilliant amateur detective, Desmond Merrion to help him solve the strange atmosphere of High Eldersham and the even stranger towns people when the local pub landlord is brutally murdered. Was it a human hand who murdered him or a supernatural one? And what about those wax images with needles stuck through them? Great dark atmosphere in this novel.
