A fun thriller with a surprise ending. French makes you loathe the antagonist and all of the people who are ignorant enough to fall into his traps. She keeps you rooting for the heroine throughout the book.

This was definitely creepy. I loathed Brendan and wanted to shake Miranda for letting it get so far in the beginning. A very good read, I'll check out more of French's books.

Good psychological thriller (like all of French's books)!

However, I was a smidge disappointed in the ending; it seemed a little too pat and contrived. The scarily insidious "villain" character of Brendan, though, more than made up for my disappointment... one of the scariest and most believeable bad guys I've read in a while.

Not my favorite of Nicci French's books. However, it is interesting and ends well.

This book was a slightly hard read. The reader kept finding angst towards to main character. French did not keep the suspense at a high level throughout the book. I need to read a couple more books by French before reaching a verdict on this author.

I didn't expect much when I bought this book because I wasn't familiar with the author(s) (the author is actually a couple who write as one pen-name). But I was very, very pleasantly surprised. Once I got into it, I finished it through the night because it is very hard to put down. It's been awhile since I've read a thriller that had an unpredictable ending. If you like this, I'd also get "Killing me Softly."

This will grab you from the first pages--scarey and creepy.

Deals with stalking and obsession and the disasters it leads to but the ending will blow you away.

Miranda's sister, Kerri, has a new boyfriend. He's a raven-haried, handsome charmer who seems to dote on her. But Brendan isn't the man he says he is. Miranda should know, because she broke off her own affair with him after she found him reading her diary. Now claiming that he ended the relationship, Brendan announces his engagement to Kerri, gains the trust of the family, and- like a virus- starts spreading destruction through Mirands's life. He invades her privacy and disrupts all her relationships...as he whispers little threats into her ear. Her rel, life-and-death nightmare with Brendan has just begun. But Brendan has never had an adversary like MIranda...
