I loved this book. Tami Hoag is one of the best mystery writers ever. The characters are rich and real. I didn't want the book to end, but I had trouble putting it down. What a dilemma. I just hope that next book I read will be half as good. You can't go wrong with any of her books. Masterful.

Outstanding! Great mystery-Definitely a worthwhile read.
Awesome story in this book!
This is book 2 in the Oak Knoll series. I enjoyed reading about all these characters again since I got to know them so well in the first book. This story delves into a murdered young mother who's 4 year old daughter was strangled and left for dead. So many suspects that Det. Mendez and FBI profiler Vince Leon try to figure it out. Anne who is now married to Vince is left to care for the young girl with the killer still on the loose. Strange characters lead in many directions and the whole community is still stunned by the murders of the See No Evil killer the year before. A good second book in a series I have enjoyed which doesn't happen often.

After reading the first book in this series, I knew i liked the author's writing style. You can relate to the characters and want to know what happens to them. I'll be on the look out for the third book of the series.
kept me wondering to the very end.
I like this new series by Tami Hoag and am happy be with these characters again. I especially like their humanness and struggles. Tami, as always, doesn't disappoint.
I understand the high ratings but for me it's just a story that is too long and drawn out and doesn't need to be, the main issue is all the repeat over and over
I skipped probably half of it at intervals just to get past the repeat pages and move the story along however the story doesn't move along very well
I think the story is probably a good one and the killer is a surprise but what it takes to get there is just too long and time consuming

Prime Hoag, as she charts the twists and turns in an investigation of the murder of a free-spirited young artist, witnessed only by the artist's now-traumatized four-year-old daughter.
good

I love this series. It kept me wanting to hurry with my chores and get back to reading.
Great who dunn-it. Not only who dunn-it but who is whom? Any why? A long read of over 550 pages in paperback but well worth the time to read. You must pay attention: not a book to pick up and put down a lot; you ahve to stay with it.
I really liked this book, I am also a fan of Tami Hoag and her style of writing...
This is a very suspenseful read, hard to put down, complete surprise at the end...
I also like the dialogue between all of the Sheriff's, Detectives and lead investigators...
I think you will enjoy it
