This is the 2nd book by Cathy Gohike that I've read and it won't be the last. Story revolves around Hannah Sterling, who's mother Lieselotte just died. All her life she yearned to be close to her mother and after her death she discovers inforation about Liselotte's past and is shocked to discover many secrets including a grandfather in Germany.
When Hannah's estranged mother dies, she looks for answers to the past that her mother refused to discuss. Clues in a safety deposit box lead Hannah to Germany where she learns her mother's story.
I thought this book was very good. The story was told in first person by both mother and daughter, alternating each chapter. The theme of forgiveness is discussed throughout the book.
