This one has a little bit of everything....Romance, mystery, and great characters....As much as I love Miss Thomas' historicals, Her contemporaries are just as engrossing and I almost feel like I know the townspeople by heart....I heard this author just won the national book award for Finding Mary Blaine.

This is an excellent book. It has a bit of ramance in it, but it is not a "romance book". Very enjoyable!

You should read this with an oxygen mask nearby, because according to the Romantic Times, "Jodi Thomas will leave you breathless!"

Pretty slow-going at first, but there is a good story line.

I have read a few of her other books and have always enjoyed them; however I must say this is the most comical one yet. While the story line it's self is mysterious, serious and hints of romance; there are two spinster sisters, the Rogers sisters as they are refered to who had me laughing the whole time. They showed me what my best friend and I will be like in 60 years!

Everyone assumes Rosa Lee Altman lived a life without passion. But burial secrets are meant to be revealed. And no one is prepared for what they discover beneath Rosa Lee's overgrown roses-or how her legacy will change their lives with love.

This is the second time I've read this book which was published in 2005. I love Jodi Thomas, and this book rates right up there with her best. I love her characters and how they all interact together. Friendships are made, they learn more about themselves & they make fast friends for life, all because of a committee they've been appointed to by the Mayor of their city. Loved It!!
