Wow, these were some great reads. I hadn't realized when I started this that it was actually erotica, so I was pleasantly surprised by that too.
Flint's Fuse by Sandy Fraser
I enjoyed the character of Dana, who was a tough as nails rich bitch who always got her way (and her man). And Flint too, who though he had feelings for her, didn't let it get in the way of doing the job he was assigned to do. I'm glad they wound up together in the end.
Love's Prisoner by MaryJanice Davidson
My first intro the MJD's Wyndham Werewolves, who appear in later books starting with Derik's Bane. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more about them now. Jeannie's character reminded me a little bit of Betsy from the Undead series, and I understand that in the final story in Dead and Loving It, which actually takes place before Undead and Unpopular, the werewolves meet the vampires. So I'll be curious to see if Jeannie and Michael are still around then. I hope so as I really enjoyed their story here.
The Education of Miss Felicity Wells by Alice Gaines
This one was only alright for me. The innocence and virginity of Felicity was a bit annoying. That she'd go to a known casanova to teach her to please her husband, and expect to retain her virginity throughout the process, was a little silly in my mind. But then again, maybe she's just stupid!
A Candidate for the Kiss by Angela Knight
The sex in this one was hot! I didn't care for the author's habit of inserting a chapter break in the middle of a conversation. You usually expect a chapter ending to allow you a good place to put down the book and get back to it later, but in the case of this story, I'd often have to go back and reread the last few paragraphs of the previous chapter to pick up where the new chapter started. Since I've got some of Ms. Knight's books on my TBR shelf, I can only hope she's become better in this regard because I found it quite annoying! At least the story (and the sex) was good.

I had only wanted to read the MaryJanice Davidson story, but I couldn't finish it; I barely got through the first few pages. The story opens with a rape scene - which turns into a scene where the female character actually enjoys it. And the whole "rape-turned-into-pleasure" type of story does NOT interest me at all and also is demeaning to women, especially those who have been raped.
I have enjoyed almost everything else I've read by MJD, but I just cannot handle continuing with this story.

This is one of the better ones I've read. The MaryJanice Davidson story is a Wyndham Werewolf story about the pack leader Michael finding his mate under EXTREMELY difficult circumstances, the Angela Knight story is introduced as 'I was watching James Bond do something impossible in one of his movies and I thought - this would be a lot more believable if he was a vampire... The other two were read-onces...
I wasn't aware that this was a collection of erotica short stories until after I had started reading it. I had actually gotten it to read the one piece by Mary Janice Davidson but did find another author I may want to check out after reading this.

Whereas this story did have some steamy sex scenes, the dialogue and some of the actions between the characters was extremely corny. I think my eyeballs may be stuck skyward from having rolled them so often and I don't know if I've ever read the term "lover" used as an endearment so often that the redundancy drove me nuts. If this is a classic example of this author's writing, I'm not really interested in looking for more works by her. Overall, the concept of the story was good, but the delivery poor.

If your familiar with MJD, then you won't be surprised by this story having a lead female who's the typical "Witty Ditz" that seems to be found in all of MJD's stories I've read. If you're a fan of the Wyndham Werewolves, or just want to know how Jeannie and Michael met, then this story is for you. Overall, I did enjoy the story with the exception of a couple of rape scenes that made me feel like Jeannie was just a victim of Stockholm Syndrome.

I have to admit, this author does have a great writing style, but when I first started reading the story it rather reminded me of a plot that you'd see in a cheezy old porn flick from a few decades ago before the actors started trimming their hedges ;P. I had a hard time getting the image of John Holmes in the role of the tutor out of my head for a bit, which almost ruined the story for me until I was able to banish the image and the hokey 70s music from my mind. After that though, it was quite an excellent story that was steamy and addicting to read. I'd have to say I'd be interested in reading more from this author in the future.

My favorite is the vampire - he's also a secret agent who's been serving the United States for 300 years, and he's finally met the one woman who could share his future and ease his loneliness - if she'll agree to become a vampire as well.
The sex in these Secret books is hot stuff, and Knight and Davidson really fork it over.
The MJD story was good enough to keep the rest of the less-than-exceptional stories. Stories that were not particularly memorable since I couldn't tell you about one of them. the MJD story did have a rape scene but I'm sorry, the whole thing was hot. Now I remember why I enjoy that author.
I ordered this book just for the MJD story, which I read and was fairly well pleased with. I won't read the other stories until just the right time. They're more, um, energetic, (lol) than what I read on a daily basis. But, yes, I enjoyed the one story I read. MJD is good at snark.
