I liked this second book in the Byrons of Braebourne series and could really feel the passion between the H/H, their blossoming love for each other and their anguish when they are torn apart. However, the pacing of the story seemed a bit slow and drawn out. And yet, at the same time, the author propels the reader ahead in time at every turn with phrases like "ten days passed by," "five evenings later," "after nearly a week," "three weeks passed," "during her first month's residency," "nearly seven weeks later," "in the weeks leading up to," "ten days passed as the ten before them," "a week later," "nearly a month later," "six weeks later," "during the six weeks that had passed."
I didn't care much for this method of forcing the story forward. What happened between the H/H during those many time lapses? More slow and drawn out lack of action? Tracy Anne Warren is a wonderful author and I read all of her books. I just hope the next installment in the series will be more dynamic.

Seduced by His Touch didn't work for me as well as Tempted By His Kiss, the previous Byrons book. The drama was obvious, he was forced to court and marry her to pay off a gambling debt. She found out, felt betrayed. Big surprise.
What didn't work is that she was rightly mad at him and his punishment was that he got to have lots of sex with her. Poor mistreated bloke. It's a pet peeve when the heroine gives in to the hero because she can't resist him sexually. Who writes this stuff? If there is one thing women know how to do it is withhold sex.
This book just dragged. I didn't like her much because I thought she was far too simpering and easily manipulated.

This was a fun easy to read book. Loved the characters and how they developed as the story went along. Winning a bride in a card game was a fun way to start this book off.

The nerd gets her playboy!
What a wonderful adventure this was, so filled with emotion. The love scenes were so wonderful and passionate and sweet. Grace was a perfect character, didn't do anything stupid, and never denied her feelings outright. Jack was also a great hero. He didn't do anything stupid or mean or brutal. They were truly a greatly matched pair!
