Ronan MacRuari is tortured soul cursed when his father went over to the dark side. His first two wives were killed and he is terrified of marrying again. Gelis MacKenzie is his fated bride and she is from strong Scottish stock and is not afraid of his curse. She is determined to love him and seduce him into loving her. The MacRuari family is fighting a losing battle with the Old Ones (Gods I guess) who are trying to recover something that Ronan's father stole from them. They are sabotaging Ronan's castle and threatening the lives of everyone inside.
This is a well written story with the hero trying his damndest to not fall in love with Gelis in order to save her from his cursed existence. You can't help but love Gelis and Ronan as the tortured lovers. The conclusion is very satisfying and proves that love does conquor all. This was a fast paced read which I read in under 3 hours.

This book is great! It grabs you from the first page! I don't recall reading anything from this author before, but you can bet I will look for her books in the future.
The relationship she builds between Gelis and Raven is wonderful. You fall in love with both characters! I highly recommend this book!
