Oh Yes!!! What a great love story- with lots of steamy sex and delightful characters.
I can't wait for the next release in the series. The first one I gave 4 stars-really liked it. I gave this second book 5 stars (first time ever out of 150+ great romances I have read in the last year). Even though you know its a romance novel and you know how it should end... you aren't sure until the very end.

I enjoyed this story very much and was moved to tears. However, the sex scenes were different from book one (which I give 5 stars) and more than I expected. Alaric binds Keeley without asking her about it, and although she mostly enjoys his dominance, he does hurt her before turning tender. It didn't ruin the book for me, because overall he is a great guy, I'm invested in the trilogy's story, and we get so many wonderful characters, but some sensitive readers might find it to be a turn off.

I absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend it! My very first Scottish, historical romance and my first read by Maya Banks. A wonderful story with so much passion. This book will captivate you and keep your interest until the very end. You will not want to put this book down and you will fall in love with all the characters! I found myself laughing and crying. Alaric and Keeley have so much love for one other and what they have to go through will certainly pull at your heartstrings! This is the second in the McCabe brother's trilogy and I cannot wait until I can read the other two.
Just finished this after reading book one in the trilogy. All I can say is WOW. I had given book 1 a 5 star review, and after finishing this one, I almost felt like I should go back and adjust it down, because clearly this one was better. But on 2nd thought, I still think book 1 merits 5 stars. This one deserves 7 stars out of 5. I laughed and I cried. What an awesome book! So excited to move onto book 3. And ecstatic that Maya Banks is going to be writing more Highlander books beyond the McCabe trilogy.

This is one of the fast read highlander books I read and enjoyed it so much at the same time. Some highlander books takes time to understand especially with the words that are used. But this one is great and I loved all the series for the McCabe and can't wait for the new series of Montgomery, etc.
I loved this book from start to finish, It is a book that will make you cry, and laugh.
Keely is a healer and when Alaric is dropped at her feet injured she does what is natural, healing. When his brothers come for him and take her to their home, her feelings grow for him. But what happens when his bethrothed arrives on the doorstep for their wedding. Get the book and find out. You won't be sorry.
This one's on my keeper shelf.

Man oh man this one's good! Maya Banks spins another exceptionally romantic highlander tale! In this second installment, the plot revolves around Alaric and Keeley's seemingly star-crossed liaison and not so much on a clan war. Seduction of a Highland Lass totally tugs at the heartstrings and will have you in tears over the sacrifices the main couple faces. This book pulls ahead slightly from the first (there were more sensual delights to enjoy here). You'll also enjoy the sequel's teaser as it promises to be just as exciting as the others. Another slam dunk for Ms. Banks! 4.8 stars.

Seduction of a Highland Lass by Maya Banks continues the McCabe trilogy (it is the second in the series). As always, Banks creates a wonderful love story between her heroine, Keeley, and her hero, Alaric McCabe. When Alaric McCabe is on his way to a neighboring clan's keep in order to align their families through marriage, he and his men are badly ambushed. Alaric is the sole survivor and is gravely wounded. When Keeley sees him outside of her dwelling and makes it her mission to heal him. When Alaric's brothers, Caelen and Ewan, find Alaric at Keeley's dwelling, Laird Ewan orders Keeley to accompany them to their castle so she can care for Alaric until he is healed. As Keeley tends to Alaric, the two find themselves surrending to an irresistible passion that soon turns to love. But, Alaric is betrothed to another and honor bound to serve his clan. This was a great read by a talented writer. I can't wait to read the last book in the series..
I loved this book. Aleric and Keeley's story tugs at your heart strings. Not many stories can make me cry but this one did. It also makes you laugh out loud. If I could rate it higher than 5 I would. You should read these books in order.
Great Read.
Great Read.
Another excellent, excellent book! Loved it!! Amazing characters! Their story was so well told, and their feelings put into words so eloquently that my heart truly ached for them! I've read all of this series now, and this one was my favorite! They never tried to deny their feelings or love for each other. They just wanted to have as much of each other as they could before Alaric did his duty and married another. Definitely one for my keeper shelf! :)
Wow! I read this series out of order so this is my last book and I wish Banks would write more. I cant give enough praise how good all three books were. I know a lot of people might complain that the books are too similar (spunky women getting hurt and alpha men in love raging) but there were so much laughter and tears through the whole thing. It was fun and at the same time tugged at your heartstrings. I rarely want to reread romances but I really think I can read these three books over and over again. I literally fell in love with all the characters, not just the main ones.
Hopefully, Banks will want to write a book about Crispin and Gretchen all grown up because this series is just too good to end at only three books.

This book is awesome! I think Maya Banks is great!! I'm laughing one minute then tears run down my face the next minute. Alaric is on his way to the McDonald clan when he is attacked. He manages to get on his horse even though his is injured very badly. Keeley is at her home when a man falls from his horse on her door step. She takes him into her home and tries to heal him. Keeley starts to care for him especially after he starts to call her "his angel". Soon though she finds out he is to wed another woman.

5 Passionate Stars!!!
This is the second book in the McCabe Highlander series and it's definitely not one to miss. In fact, I enjoyed this one more than I did the first.
As soon as I opened the book I was indeed hooked. I simply could not put it down. Maya Banks has a wonderful way of making the characters pop and sizzle off the pages.
Alaric McCabe is a perfectly formed and sexy warrior. He's truly handsome beyond reason... but he has a duty to uphold. He must wed Rionna McDonald (the daughter of a neighboring chieftain) and he's not thrilled about it at all. Now tenuous peace in the highlands and the threat Duncan Cameron posed not only to the neighboring clans, but to King David's throne, Alaric agreed to the marriage that would cement an alliance.
As he sets out to the McDonald's land, he and a dozen McCabe soldiers that have traveled with him are ambushed. Alaric is gravely injured and somehow manages to get on his horse and escape before he passes out.
Enter little spitfire Keeley McDonald. She is an outcast from her clan but yet most still would seek her out for her knowledge of healing. She's blunt and to the point (just like I love my heroines). One morning when she ventures out of her cottage, she stumbles upon the handsome McCabe warrior that's fallen off his horse. She finally manages to get him inside with the help of his horse. She stitches his injury up and takes care of him while a fever sets in.
I loved both of the characters! I really enjoyed the banter, the flirting between angel and warrior, and the perfect way they come to love each other. The love scenes are hot and they will have you panting for more. The fact that they can't be together is maddening but I kept cheering them on.
"I find I haven't the ability to deny myself the pleasure of your touch. You are an addiction. One I can't readily be free of. I listen to your arguments and I understand them well, but then you look at me or I look at you and all reason flies out the window. I only know that if I don't touch you, if I don't kiss you, I'll go mad."
She cupped his face in her hands and gave him a look so sad that it clenched his stomach into a ball. "So sweet are your words and how heavy they fall on my ears. I take them into my heart and am filled with gladness and longing all at the same time and yet I realize how hopeless such feelings are. You will never be mine, warrior. Just as I'll never be yours. `Tis madness to continue to torment ourselves."
And then the moment came when they finally gave into temptation and it was all my heart could do not to jump out of my chest. It was pure perfection.
She was captivated by the picture they presented... It was every romantic dream she'd ever hatched. He was her warrior. Though she'd saved him in the beginning, he saved her each and every day.
Her warrior. Her love.
"Love me, Alaric, " she whispered.
"Aye, I do, lass. I do. And I will. Tonight is mine. You're my captive to do with as I see fit. Never will you feel more cherished and loved more than you do this night."
I cannot wait to read the next one in the series. I believe Ms. Banks has such a talent for writing these Scottish historical romances. Her way of writing left me breathless and time flew by when reading page after page. I am addicted. Ms. Banks Highland warriors have captured my heart and she is quickly becoming my favorite author.
