First time read for this author. Enjoyed it very much. Alex Knight returns from a business trip to Brazil, where he was forced to fight for his life and escaped through the jungle, to discover that his family has been told he was killed. He tries to call them to let them know he is alright, but can't reach anyone. When he arrives home, a strange woman answers the door, and doesn't believe he is Alex Knight. He is shocked to find out that she is supposedly his wife.

Enjoyable romance! 1st of 2 books(so far).A bit of silliness and a touch of suspense that doesn't take away from the main couple's romance end with a HEA. The heroine escapes from the real world by reading romance novels and dreaming she'd be as strong as the women she reads about. The man has suffered a bad marriage. She marries him by proxy before his death was 'publicized' because she wants a family(children) then he shows up alive! He makes a bad move the first night back then spends the remainder of the book winning over his wife which is tough since he doesn't think he wants love and she's also wary of all men. Nice, easy read. Oh, and it may bug some, but characters and scenes from romance novels are mentioned and they just happen to come for 2 other books by this author.Didn't bother me but it may some.I'm giving it a 5 for my 'category' of nice, easy non-dramatic reads I can just pick up and enjoy for the sake of reading!

Really, really didn't like this one. Disappointed by her. Goofy, naieve heroine and uninteresting hero. Worst part ran throughout the book - the author's shameless self-promotion by mentioning her other books as being read by the characters in this one. Really dumb. Pass.

I loved the setting but I like heroines with a little less wide-eyed, gosh willikers, naivete.
