Regretably, I didn't do enough research about this book prior to reading it. I "judged the book by its cover" (which is gorgeous) and its classification as Historical Romance. In my opinion, it should be classified as "Paranormal Erotica."
This book may have been somewhat historical in that the author chose an historical setting, but the truth is that the time period was completely irrelevant to the story. (It could have happened at virtually any time in history.)
Mainly, I did not enjoy the story. I do not like paranormal or fantasy--and that is how this book should be classified rather than HR. Unfortunately, although there was some raunchy sex in the book, it was not sufficient to boost my rating.
I'm so disappointed in this book that I have removed the upcoming Marissa Day book from my Wish List. When I read the description, it sounds like "more of the same."
