This was my first romantic thriller, based in Louisiana, and I really enjoyed it - much more than I ever expected. I enjoyed the characters, the setting, the plot. I believe it is part of a series and I will look for more by this author.

if you liked Kiss Them Good Bye you will like this one. It takes place in the small parish of Toussaint Louisiana... Lots of small town intrigue, gossip and love affairs, not to mention the suspense.

Cameron returns to Toussaint, La., setting of the popular Kiss Them Goodbye, for another soft-boiled, sexy thriller in which a local author's murder mysteries come to bloody life. Convicted murderer Charles Penn has escaped prison and is on the loose. When he killed Stephanie Gray with an ice pick at Mardi Gras two years before, the only eyewitness to the killing was timid Ellie Byron, a bookstore owner and former homeless runaway with a troubled past. Though she was unable to positively identify Penn in a lineup, Ellie frets that she'll become his next target now that he's out. Then a woman is found stabbed to death with an ice pick at a New Orleans jewelry store, and friends rally around terrified Ellie, particularly lawyer Joe Gable, who is secretly in love with her. Meanwhile, the police decide that both killings are re-enactments of scenes from local author Sonja Elliot's bestselling crime novels. This is the second book in this series I have read. I see now the stories connect. Enjoyed this book very much. Kept me guessing until the end.

Now You See Him is a slow book at the beginning as it builds the environment of the characters. Stella Cameron does a nice job taking characters from her books and weaves them into the next book. While not needing to read the book previous to Now You See Him, reading Kiss Them Goodbye adds to the flavor so you can draw from the history of the characters. If picking this book up for the first time, it is a good read that draws you in as you begin to wonder who the myterious guy is who is trying to harm Ellie, who is the focus of the book. Many authors near the end of a book without tieing up loose ends, but Stella Cameron is careful to satisfy the reader in that regard.
The premise of the book is that Ellie witnessed a murder years prior, but doesn't remember a name or a face to connect the killer. When another murder occurs years later, the focus comes back to her as the murderer is out to get rid of any evidence of Ellie potentially remembering who he is. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well written book. Good cast of characters, just enough sex to keep one interested and a good story line.
