Former government operative Eva Driscoll is now living a new life, having avenged the death of her brother at the hands of the shadowy ESO. Her team is now scattered across the globe. All is well until she is contacted by a former team member, who tells her that the ESO is active once again and may be coming after her. Soon after this news, the children of two team members are kidnapped. The ransom: Eva Driscoll herself. Eva soon reassembles her team and based on data from the ESO itself, a mission is launched to find an island that doesn't officially exist and rescue the kids. In an unexpected twist, it turns out that the former leader of the ESO is in fact still alive, having survived the last encounter with Driscoll.
Seek and Destroy by Alan McDermott is the second novel in the Eva Driscoll series. McDermott is an accomplished author, having written six books in the Tom Gray series and a spin-off novel, Trojan, which has been shortlisted for ITW's Best Original E-book novel of 2018. McDermott previously wrote applications for Britain's NHS and switch to writing full time in 2014. Seek and Destroy also features the return of Tom Gray. This book is well written, with believable characters and a plot that will keep you guessing until the end. I would recommend reading the prior book first so that you fully understand what led to the events in this book. I would give this 4/5 stars.
