This book has been extremely encouraging and helpful as I plan my daugther's high school years at home. The author's conversational tone keeps the book from being too scholarly for comfortable reading.
This book offers three main helps: Encouragement, transcript help, and helps designing your own courses to fulfill your own requirements. The encouragement keeps the reader from getting overwhelmed with "doing high school" and focused on what God has planned for your homeschool. The transcript help is packed with samples and photo-copiable fill-in-the-blank versions. The course-designing help is full of worksheets the author designed for her own children--offering a plethora of adaptable ideas to the reader.
Although I felt that some of her ideas where less structured than my own homeschool is using, I found her book very encouraging. I also found practical help I can use when designing my daughter's electives. This book is full of ideas of how to keep track of hours and give credit for activities that are already in our schedule!

This is terrific! Including sample forms of many types, this walks you through the planning and recordkeeping of a fluidly-structured senior high. The biblical philosophy is sound, and Barb's joy and enthusiasm are encouraging and edifying. I definitely recommend this to all homeschoolers looking toward high school.
