In this book, an estranged husband and wife battle the results of a bad economy. It's not giving anything away to say that the husband loses his job, there is a missing daughter, a son loses his wife and fights for his daughter, etc. It all sounds dismal, but it brings the family together in unexpected ways. The book is sort of about pulling together in times of hardship, and it will ring very true to those who were affluent but are suffering through the economic setbacks of recent years.
