I love this author - and was not disappointed with this book. Interesting beginning, took awhile to understand what was going on - but the story involves a young woman who became pregnant after one encounter with a guy who comes from a wealthy family. Throw in her alcoholic, abusive father and a rich girlfriend that doesn't like what's going on.... Great boook.

This book is my personal favorite. I have another copy so I am letting this one go. This story is about a girl and a boy, from 2 completely different worlds who end up pregnant after a one night stand. Their story is heart breaking and I was totally sobbing my eyes out throughout this read. My kind of book. You will not be disappointed!!

I've recently discovered L Spencer and love her work. This is a contemporary book. Very well written and I was riveted to the story of two people who have to work out a situation. Their relationship developed in a gradual, believable way and I knew they were meant to be together. Loved it.

Great book about a girl from a disfuntional family having a one night affair and becoming pregnant by a boy from a wealthy influential family and the girl's father wanting a money settlement and the boy choosing to marry her to cut the father out and to take responsibility for the child even if she was not from his class of society and he had a girlfriend at the time.

My favorite Spencer book... its a must read. Set in modern day it examines love and how acceptance is sometimes a lot more difficult than it seems.

I read this book years ago when the theme was more relevant to the times. It was the first Lavyrle Spencer book I ever read. I was hooked! The characters were very believable. I felt their pain and they also made me so frustrated. This is one of my favorites of all the books she wrote! Great quick read!

Loved this book. I also just discovered LaVyrle Spencer and find I can't put her books down. You feel all the emotions of each character. You will love this book.
Spencer is a great writter she keeps the story going. this is a good one. You will get real mad at the girl.
I thought this book was hard to read I am not sure why it may have been my frame of mind thought while I was reading this. Keep thinking I may reread later.

I loved this book! Like all of Spencer's books, it is so easy to read. The story just flows and unfolds very naturally. The characters could be someone you know or maybe even yourself. The confusion, anger, despair, desire, and conflicted feelings are portrayed very realistically. I have read tons of romance and erotica, but in my opinion this book includes one of THE sexiest love scenes ever. I'm not sure what makes me think that, maybe because it seems like real life instead of make believe fantasy, unattainable romance, or hard core porn. I have read this book many times.

This is a great book! I got it today and literally could not put it down til I finished it!
I loved this book from the word go. It was a sweet love story that often brought tears to my eyes. I actually have two copies of this book and put one on here. I swear I go back to reread this book every few months, it's that good. Clay was a dream, Catherine beyond stubborn with a giant chip on her shoulder, but in the end all works out and will leave you smiling.
A really fun and easy book to finish in a weekend!

LaVyrle Spencer's novels are "a study of humanity at its brightest and most kind". Always enjoyable and a good read.
Excellent writer! I enjoyed reading this book so much that I didn't want it to end and actually went back to my favorite parts and reread some of it!
A drunken one-night-stand leaves Catherine Anderson pregnant. But when she tells Clay Forrester that he is going to be a father, he barely remembers her. Catherine agrees to his offer of a marriage of convenience. They will stay married until the baby is born and he is done with law school. As the weeks go by and they settle into their new home, Clay tries to make the best of their marriage. But Catherine won't let go of the past and refuses to give her heart to her husband.
I usually love LaVyrle Spencer's stories, but this one wasn't a favorite. It was written in the 1980's and it feels very dated. There are a lot of references to 80's pop culture. There are also pages of descriptions of clothing, homes, etc., that were not needed.
Clay tries to make the best of their situation, but Catherine continually pushing him away really frustrated me. Finally, the hero makes a really bad move that made me want to smack him. I didn't buy that the heroine would want him back after that situation. My rating: 2.5 Stars.
