The pharmacist said the rules changed about a year ago.

-----------

This was on the CDC website:

CDC recommends an RSV vaccine forâ¯all adults ages 75 years and older and forâ¯adults ages 60–74 yearsâ¯who are at increased risk of severe RSV.

Conditions that increase your risk for severe illness include:

  • Chronic heart or lung disease
  • Weakened immune system
  • Certain other medical conditions, including some people with diabetes and some people with obesity
  • Living in a nursing home

----------------

so the pharmacist told me that if the doctor wants me to have it, the doctor has to administer it in her office. So I'll ask when I go in October.

so far mostly just a sore arm, so I won't lift much today. I did have piercing pain in my ear a little while ago, hope that doesn't come back.

I wonder why the pharmacist at CVS who gave me the RSV vaccination didn't ask me any questions like health conditions as noted in the CDC blurb. I just scheduled online and showed up for the shot.

I got mine at the Publix pharmacy. They didn't ask questions either.

I'm 237.4 today.

"Helene" didn't cause any problems here in Titusville that I'm aware of. Got a little extra rain and wind but didn't even lose power, which I'm grateful for. Waiting to hear from my son & dil on how they're doing as they'll get a good bit from Helene today.

Scale said 232 today. I hope to be under 230 soon, and then stay there. I got under 230 around this time last year but did not stay there!

....this time last year but did not stay there!

Margaret, I've been thinking about the holidays coming up and how I want to stay vigilant with my food choices as to not undo how far I've come. I would be disappointed if I came this far just to have two months of hoilday goodies undo it all. I will just remind myself how hard I worked and what matters most...and the answer is not Christmas cookies, LOL

That post I just wrote reminded me of something. When it comes to little treats, I've often had people say "oh, enjoy it, don't deny yourself," especially around the holidays. And while this is true every once in a blue moon, I have to remind myself that eating that treat is also a form of denying myself. Eating too many treats is denying myself the happiness I feel in my smaller clothes and it's denying myself the happiness I feel when I am a healthy weight.

Not eating the treat = denying myself of something enjoyable that will last just a few minutes

Eating the treat = denying myself my health and denying myself the chance to feel good in my clothes

I will carry this into the holiday season and try my very, very best to only eat one or two treats on the actual day of the holiday.

Still at 237.4 this morning.

Margaret, I know what you mean. I'd like to get below 230 in October and at least be in the 220's by the end of the year. Luckily, living alone, I choose whether to bring treats in the apt. and eat them. Noone is forcing me to. If I do get anything like that for the holiday season it'll be the small yuletide fruitcake log. Not very big and once eaten, that's it for the year. If my son & dil were coming for Christmas I'd do a little baking for them but with both of them working and having pets, I doubt they'll be able to come down this year for a visit. So I won't do any extra baking for the holidays and will keep the holiday menu as simple as possible.

Heather, with the exception of fruit, I've gotten to wear I don't keep any treats in the apt. I'm trying hard to get this weight down so I'm doing what I can to keep temptation at bay.

Hi Teri, thanks for checking in.

Hope to hear from Jacci & Scott too.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Today I'm happy. I finally broke the plateau and am down 2 pounds to 198. I am sure its because of no cookies or dessert other than sugar free Jell-O. Also because of the chicken vegetable soup I made and have been dining on for 2-3 days. I skipped lunch yesterday too.  Well, as you know, its a day at a time endeavor.

That's terrific Teri. Happy for you.

I'm at 239 today which is 1.8 lbs. heavier than last Sunday. But considering on Sept. 1st I was 247 lbs., I can't complain. I've done ok this month. Hoping to do as well in October.

September flew by! I can't believe it's the last day of the month already.

My weight loss goals are on track. I started September 1st at 142.9. Today I'm closing out the month at 141.1, which is where I've been on my weight for last few days.

Down 1.8lbs for the month. My goal is to hit 139!

Vicki, you mentioned treats in the house. That didn't even occur to me, Lol, because we don't buy them. In these coming months it's parties and little get togethers where I'll need to be diligent. That's where things could be hazardous to my progress because it's so easy to eat for fun a party or with friends. I'll just need to play it smart!

You did well Heather. I'm sure you'll reach 139 in no time.

I've set up the October chat room so everyone don't forget to head on over there in the morning.
