This was the last book in Elizabeth Hoyt's Prince Trilogy. This book is the fourth book I have read by her, and she is quickly become one of my very favorite authors. She can tell a darn good story that has some humor and intensity, with a hero and heroine that are believable. And she has done it again with Simon and Lucy's story. I loved Simon. He was never serious and joked about everything until he met Lucy. **He was honest with his feelings, as was Lucy, something that's not done in all stories, since so many are based on misunderstandings and internal conflict.** Anyways, Lucy could see right through with him and he lost it when she told him that she felt like she had known him forever after knowing him for a couple of days. What I sincerely enjoyed about The Serpent Prince was that we went along a cute little journey while Simon and Lucy got to know each other. This was a superb story, and Elizabeth Hoyt can't crank books out quick enough for this reader. If you have not read any of her books, you are really missing out!

I enjoyed the book but not as much as the first two.... where as some like a book that's indepth and detailed I would rather read a book that moves along with the story, thus keeping my interest....

It started well but the ending seemed a little unfinished and I did not like turning a secondary character who I had felt could be a minor hero into a second rate villian. I did not like the dangling ends.

This was a nicely done story about a man struggling with his inner demons and the woman who loves him and helps him heal. The thing I could have done without was the very graphic sex scenes that did nothing to advance the plot and became an annoying distraction to finding out how the characters would resolve their relationship. Don't get me wrong, I like hot sex scenes, but they should be an integral part of the story, and not just distracting side-bars.

This was the final book in the "Prince" series. By Hoyt. And it certainly was the steamiest! Wow. This book is very hot. Simon, and Lucy a very mismatched couple who take deep desire in each others company and touches. But Simon has a dark side as well. Its a very good story, about a mans flaws, and his love of a woman. And the woman's love of him. A story that asks, can True love really conquer all?

I loved this book!! It is the last - and in my opinion, best - book in a trilogy. It is not necessary to read them in order, but all three are excellent. The premise of this book is that a young woman, living in the country, comes upon a nearly dead, naken man in the road. She brings him home and nurses him back to health, over the objection of her father, a brusque sea captain who grudgingly allows her to keep him in the house. He finally regains consciousness and we learn that he is Viscount Iddesleigh, a man who is more accustomed to debauchery in London than to simple country living. Iddesleigh and his rescuer, Lucy, start to get to now one another and begin a flirtation. The dialogue is hilarious, as Iddesleigh is something of a sarcastic bastard who has witty repartee for every occasion.
But Iddesleigh struggles with many of his own demons, and the men who originally wanted him killed, but failed, pursue him to this tiny hamlet, where he is shot at. Though it is obvious they both having feelings for each other, he leaves Lucy in order to protect her, and also to save her from himself, who he sees as unworthy of her. In the meantime, Lucy realizes that life as a country wife might not be what she wants, and she turns down the proposal of her longtime suitor.
What I loved about this book was that the struggle between Iddesleigh and Lucy seemed realistic - His issues were portrayed convincingly, and it was understandable why Lucy would have a hard time, at first, with accepting his demons. I loved that once Iddesleigh got past his initial hesitancy with Lucy, his love was so intense and his fear of losing her was so desperate. I really liked that the book did not focus a lot on the character's inner debate over whether they really loved the other person. Thus, I was a little disappointed when Lucy "realized" that she loved him. I thought that it was clear to both of them that they loved each other pretty early on. Unlike books that start with a marriage of convenience or for honor, these characters fell in love first - so why it even had to be an issue at all confuses me. But nonetheless, I strongly recommend it!

Lucy Craddock-Hayes almost stumbles over a dead man while walking one morning. Upon closer examination, she discovers he is not quite dead yet, but may soon be if she doesn't get him some help. In spite of her servant's reluctance, she sends him for help, and they take him to her house. Her father maintains that he will not have the man in his house, but Lucy calmly directs the servants to take him to a spare room. Viscount Simon Iddesleigh is engaged upon revenge, seeking out his enemies one by one, and challenging them to duels. He has killed two of them so far, and has three more before he is avenged. His enemies hired murderers to do away with him, and he was caught off guard. He cannot allow Miss Craddock-Hayes to become a target for his enemies, but she is determined to befriend him. Thoroughly enjoyable book.

I thought the Series was Great! I loved the fist book Raven Prince , second was good but this last book The Serpent Prince was WONDERFUL. I read all three in a week, I know Elizabeth Hoyt has a Princess book you can read online at her web site. It is about one of the people out of The Raven Prince. Great Author!

I enjoyed this book although there are some very graphic sexual situations in the book.
Lucy is a strong woman who knows what she wants in life and is willing to go after it even if it goes against the "norm" for ladies.
Simon is a tormented man who does not believe he has the right to love. Near death he is found and rescued -in more ways than one- by Lucy.

This would have been rated a much better read had Ms Hoyt omitted the gore. Lopping off fingers, stabbing through eyeballs gave her main characters nightmares and didn't help me any either. I find that sort of thing really breaks the romantic mood don't you?
Another wonderful novel from Ms. Hoyt. Although I didn't quite enjoy this one as much as the other two. They were really amazing!! It was refreshing to see a couple who did actually wait until they were married to consummate their union though. It was just really hard for me to understand the hero in this one, and the heroine too I guess. But I did feel that they understood and were meant for each other, and I think that allowed me to look past my own problems understanding them.

Good, not the best in the series. The love story developed at a good pace although it was never quite clear why they fell in love. There were some love scenes, one somewhat memorable. Overall good writing, but not a super memorable addition to my bookshelf.

This is my favorite of a wonderful romance trilogy. There was just something about Simon. A keeper.
