This story was interesting enough to make me want to keep reading, but, as other reviewers mentioned, the idea that the police would share so much information with and then use a pregnant woman in their investigation were two parts of this story that were unrealistic. The story had good bones but lacked the believable details I've come to expect from Kate Pepper. The ending was nothing spectacular. Overall, I believe the book is worth reading, but I would have been disappointed had I bought this book new.

Gripping story; great suspense. As good as her first one. Some of the plot was a little unbelievable,,hard to believe that the police would share so much information with a civilian, and even harder to believe that they would use a 6 month pregant woman with a wire to confront a possible suspect!! But sort of just suspend disbelief and go along for the ride. Await her next one eagerly.

Alice Halpern is supposed to meet her best friend at the playground where they always play with there children, but when pregnant Lauren doesn't show up the story begins to unravel. You'll never believe what happened to Lauren and who the guilty party is. This is the first Kate Pepper book I have read and I really liked it. It was very hard to put down, edge of your seat until the end.

Pregnant women are disappearing in a Brooklyn neighborhood. Is it coincidental that they were also facing eviction from their apartments?
A really good and heart-stopping mystery. The ending left something to be desired, but it was a satisfying read nonetheless.

Interesting story, good characters.
I like how this author handles tough topics....and this is a really tough topic.
Good mystery that had promise, but I didn't care for the ending. Others love the twist though!
It was pretty good.
Very good book, I was pleasantly surprised.
GREAT BOOK,COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN TILL I FINISHED IT!!
fast read
good suspense book, very unbelieving ending, I would of thought that another person or character would be the killer, even he was the accomplice to the murder, it was hard to beleive he done it
This book is so great as is anything Kate Pepper writes!
