This one is not as good as the previous ones in the series. It's missing a classic "Plum" moment. (You know, the one that keeps coming to mind and making you chuckle.) Still worth a read, though.

This was a great addition to the Stephanie Plum series. Stephanie is after Eddie DeChooch and he should be easy to take in. Of course, life is never that easy for Stephanie. The mystery in this one is actually quite messed up and funny at the same time. I wish I could see the conversation between Connie, Lula, and Stephanie that occurs near the end of the book. (Sorry, can't give any details!) I was giggling like mad just trying to imagine it! The tension between Ranger and Stephanie is crazy good in this one. A quick read that has humor, sexual tension, and a fascinating plot. I thought it was one of the best I've read so far.

So, Grandma Mazur's boyfriend is Stephanie's new FTA. But he's mighty elusive for being so old and driving such a noticeable car.

Very funny and likeable characters that get more interesting with each book. Stephanie Plum and her family will keep you laughing. Very easy to pick up any book in the series and understand how they all fit together

Semi-retired mob guy, Eddie DeChooch, is caught trafficking contraband cigarettes through Trenton, New Jersey. When DeChooch fails to show for a court appearance, bond enforcement agent Stephanie Plum is assigned the task of finding him and dragging his decrepit ass back to jail. Not such an easy job, it turns out, since DeChooch has learned a lot of tricks over the years and isn't afraid to use his gun. He's already shot Loretta Ricci and left her for worm food in his shed. He wouldn't mind shooting Stephanie next.
Likeable losers (and former high school classmates) Walter "MoonMan" Dunphy and Dougie "The Dealer" Kruper have inadvertently become involved with DeChooch. They've gotten sucked into an operation which is much more than simple cigarette smuggling and holds risks far greater than anyone could have imagined.
When Dougie disappears, Steph goes into search mode. When Mooner disappears, she calls in the heavy artillery and asks master bounty hunter Ranger for help. Ranger's price for the job? One night with Stephanie, dusk to dawn. Not information she'd want to share with her some-time live in roommate, vice cop Joe Morelli.
A typical dilemma in the world of Plum.
And on the homefront, Stephanie's "perfect" sister Valerie has decided to move back to Trenton, bringing her two kids from hell. Grandma Mazur is asking questions about being a lesbian, and Bob, the bulimic dog, is eating everything in sight-including the furniture.
Mud wrestling, motorcycles, fast cars, fast food, and fast men. It's Seven Up. Absolutely Janet Evanovich at her very best.

Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum's got a lot on her mind. How does cigarette smuggler Eddie DeChooch, a fugitive so geriatric that even the hot-to-trot Grandma Mazur won't go out with him a third time, keep giving her the slip? How did a woman who died of a heart attack end up in DeChooch's garden shed with five bullet holes in her chest? Who stole a rump roast from Dougie and Mooner, the two lovable potheads who have decided to be crime fighters in Spandex bodysuits? Can Stephanie's perfect sister Valerie make it as a lesbian single mother without driving her family crazy? And--oh yeah--what should Stephanie do about that damn wedding dress on hold at Tina's Bridal Shoppe, waiting for her to decide whether vice cop Joe Morelli's really the one for her?
To complicate matters further, Stephanie's made a reluctant deal with the devil: if she can't bring in DeChooch by herself, her sexy but dangerous cohort Ranger is willing to help--for a price that a girl who's not-exactly-engaged is uncertain whether she should pay. But when Dougie and Mooner disappear, Grandma is kidnapped, and a crazy widow starts taking pot shots, no one who hides her .38 in a cookie jar is going to turn down a little friendly assistance.

This book continues the saga of all the familiar characters from the series. Don't expect too much relevance, but a quick, enjoyable read with more than a few laughs.

Evanovich has really hit her stride in the middle of this series. DeCooch... where is he? What's the story with this old man? How's she going to destroy a car? What's Lula going to wear? And yes, Marci S -- Ranger or Morelli??????
One of my favorite things in this series is that you don't really need to read them in order. It's just a fresher Tasty Cake if you do.

For Stephanie Plum fans, there's not much better than accompanying her on a new case. The outrageous and fearless, though not often successful, Trenton, N.J., bounty hunter appears in her seventh book. Stephanie's sleazy bailbondsman cousin, Vinnie, gives her an easy job: pick up difficult senior citizen Eddie DeChooch who's been racing around Trenton in a borrowed white Cadillac, but seems to be able to catch him. The usual characters are here: former high school buddies, stoners Dougie and Mooner; feisty Grandma Mazur, outrageous Lula, sexy Trenton detective Joe Morelli, and hot, mysterious Ranger. Her sister Valerie whose perfect life Stephanie envies, returns from California after the failure of her marriage bringing with her two daughters. This is Plum good fun! It meanders a bit, but it delivers a big dose of hilarity and the love triangle just keeps heating up. This is a must for Plum fans!
I am behind in the series, and really appreciate this website and the ability to get older books. Loved the book!!!
Grandma Mazur comes to the front in this one. The acorn does not fall far from the tree. Great fun!
UK edition - purple cover
Another awesome adventure of Stephanie Plum. I was mad at the end because it left me hanging, and I just started Hard Eight, and it so far has not told me if there was any "action" I cannot say more or I will spoil it!
Always great reading in this series!
Good reading as are all of the Stephanie Plum books. This one involves her grandmother, her estranged sister, and so far she hasn't recieved a marriage proposal from Joe Morelli, yet?
Another great Stephanie Plum book - always a delightful read!
A fun book to read.
This one was a little harder to keep track of with all of the different characters. The ending doesn't leave you hanging as much too. I think I need a break after this one!
Man! She leaves me wanting more with every book! How does she keep that up? Excellent.
This Stephanie Plum entry features a marriage proposal from Morelli, an alternative proposal from Ranger, the most elusive old fart fugitive on the planet, two stoners, and a Mysterious Something that several people seem really, really interested in finding. Oh, and there are mud wrestlers, motorcycles, and Bob the Dog, just to keep things interesting.
You just can't get enough of Stephanie Plum. But I definitely recommend starting with One for the Money and working your way up. If you start in the middle of the series, you may understand the characters as well.
Edgy romance, wacky family relationship, absurd bounty hunting, wise-cracking humor, Laugh out loud funny. Leaves you wanting more!!
Another great Stephanie Plum novel, I really enjoyed this one even more than "Hot Six"!
ANother great Stephanie Plum!
One more funny bone ticklers...great fun to read.
love the Stephanie Plum series, couldn't put this book down.
An easy, light, entertaining read!
The dual tensions with Morelli and Ranger get interesting in this one...
Seventh in the Stephanie Plum series. Good, fun read.
The Seventh of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum Novel. Funny and easy reading.
One of my favorites of the Stephanie Plum series. Steph's chasing a bail jumper, Eddie DeChooch, who is also involved with her offbeat grandmother. Meantime, things are heating up with both her cop-boyfriend Joe Morelli AND hot, mysterious fellow bounty hunter Ranger.
Always a funny story! Got to get the whole series.
I love all of her books!
VERY GOOD, INTRIGED AND MAKE YOU LAUGH, A COMBINATION OF BOTH.
Wonderful. By the time you get to book seven, You know and look forward to reading about the characters.
Gotta love Stephanie Plum!
I am a fan of all the Stephanie Plum novels, this one is every bit as good as her previous stories.
I love these books! the character makes me laugh out loud! great fun reading
Fantastic read as always. I love the Stephanie Plum books. They will make you laugh out loud while reading.
Awesome series! LOL funny!
What can I say? It's a book by Janet Evanovich and I've loved everyone I read. The destroyed cars are starting to get a little ridiculous, though.
loved it ,loved it, loved it!!!!
Great book !
Even though I love the entire Stephanie Plum series, for some reason this book was laugh out loud funny! Some parts were so hilarious, I was getting some looks from people sitting next to me on an airplane, while I laughed away at the various misadventures Stephanie and her Posse get themselves into! These books are quick, enjoyable reads every time!
I started out not likeing the series but I made myself keep reading them and am enjoying the series now very much. It is fun to see what Stephanie is up to and what she car she is driving....
Great book! My family thinks I'm crazy because I'm laughing hysterically while reading.
it was great!
Sometimes I don't like this series because Stephanie Plum is so stupid, but other times I love it because it unexpectedly makes me laugh. Her Grandmother's obsession with seeing dead people in their caskets is a good one.
Evanovich likes to build sexual tension, but doesn't deliver any good sex - she needs to get some, then she can steam up our pages with more than tension.
I put this book down 3 times and read something else, but when I finished, I reached for another Stephanie Plum novel, so they're a great treat to eat up when I don't require some intricate plots.

Hot guys, adventures, & laughs. I love this books series.
Maybe it was just me and my typically befuddled brain, but I had a harder time following this one than her other Stephanie Plum books.
Great summer read If you like lots of action, laughs and a little sex thrown in!
Great as always, after coming off of a completely boring read before picking this up, it was exactly what I needed to boost my reading and find an enjoyable book again. Can't miss with this series.
All the books in this numbered series are terrific... You might laugh out loud.
Another fabulous book in the Plum Series!
A great, fun read in the Stephanie Plum series.
Just love all of the books in this series!! This one seemed to move a little slower than some of the other, but still a great read!!
Absolutely hysterical book, you will laugh out loud!
How can anyone not like Stephanie Plum? These books are the perfect mindless reads.
This one is the funniest to me so far!! Can't wait to read the rest!
Fun, exciting, sure to become a favorite
Great series
All New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has to do is bring in a semi-retired bail jumper, Eddie DeChooch. For an old man he's still got a knack for slipping out of sight-and raising hell. How else can Sephanie explain the bullet-riddled corpse in Eddie's garden?
Who else would have a clue as to why two of Stephanie's friends suddenly vanished? For answers, Stephanie has the devil to pay, her mentor, Ranger. The deal? He'll give Stephanie all the help she needs-if she gives him everything he wants.
The Stephanie Plum books are the BEST and it doesn't matter if you're female or male to appreciate them, you'll find laughs in all the books. Between Stephanie trying to decide if she wants Morelli or Ranger, interference from her family-especially her grandmother makes it all the more interesting. What are you waiting for? If you've read some of these books, you'll need to read them all, so go ahead and pick up Seven Up!

The whole series is great! Don't miss ANY of the books. You'll laugh outloud no matter how serious you take yourself.
Another great Stephanie Plum story. And Ranger..... what more can I say? He's HOT!
Love every Stephanie Plum. This one has a a more unusual plot than most.
I just love the images that are conjured up in my head about Ranger and Morelli - Evanovich sure knows how to grasp the reader's attention! Loved this book!
Fantastic book - the Stephanie Plum series is wonderful. Funny and refreshing - you won't be dissapointed.
The seventh book in the Stephanie Plum, infamous but sooooo funny, Bounty Hunter. The discrett sexual tension heats up with both her co-bounty hunter, Ranger, and her "boy next door, cop, Joe Morelli, who finally proposes. Zany cast of characters!
I laughed out loud so many times my husband gave me that 'what are you reading' look. Loved it, loved it!
Like the first 6, only more so.
The SEVENTHZ book in the series featuring Stephanie Plum who is a bounty hunter in Trenton, New Jersey.
Another fast-paced, lively and hysterical novel. And the ending leaves you wondering did she or didn't she... it also makes you want to pick up #8 and jump right in!
Awesome! I couldn't put this book down!
I absolutely LOVE this series. Although this isn't one of the best, it is still a light and humorous book.
Hilarious. Another winner by Evanovich. A "must read" if you like this series.
This book was hilarious, just like the six before it. I'm looking forward to readying Hard Eight next.
Evanovich is definitely losing her touch with these books. I feel like she's just pounding them out now, with little inspiration.
fun to read
Janet Evanovich is one of my favorite authors...she's a new "discovery" of mine and I read all of her Stephanie Plum novels...it's a quick read.
excellent, very funny, makes my life not seem so bad. LOL
Stephanie is in pursuit of a semi-retired bail jumper. He is good at outrunning her! Good story, and keeps you entertained throughout!
Looks like seven is a lucky number for bestselling author Janet Evanovich, whose seventh mystery starring New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is wilder, wackier and filled with more outrageous antics and characters than ever before.
The fun begins when Stephanie sets out to bring in bail jumper Eddie DeChooch, a crazy old codger who can't see as well as he used to, can't get it up (according to Stephanie's Grandma Mazur!), and can't hear too well, either. Maybe that's why, after his partner, Louie D., dies of a heart attack while they're pulling off a contraband cigarette deal, DeChooch thinks he hears mob boss Anthony Thumbs tell him to bring Louie's heart back to Jersey, when what Anthony really says is bring the "fart" back to Jersey.
It may even explain why, after accidentally losing the heart that he cuts from his partner's dead body, DeChooch steals a container of pot roast from a stranger's home and tries to send that back to Anthony Thumbs instead.
What it doesn't explain is why Stephanie is having so much trouble running down a bail skip who is old enough to date her grandmother, why Stephanie's friends Dougie and Mooner have mysteriously disappeared, and why Stephanie and her gal pal Lula suddenly find themselves chin deep in mud, brawling it up big time with two of the hottest female mud wrestlers in town.
And if that's not enough to make a girl spike cut her hair and dye it punk-rocker blonde, Stephanie still can't decide what to do about Joe Morelli, the man she loves and is sort of engaged to, and the irresistibly sexy Ranger, a fellow bounty hunter who knows just how to get under Stephanie's skin -- and maybe even into her heart if she lets him help her bring Eddie DeChooch in ...
Yes, all's fair in love and bounty hunting when Stephanie Plum is on the case

This is my favorite series a books. Read them over and over again.

Great book, just like all the others in this series.
Great series of books!
Stephanie's Mom is planning her wedding to Morelli and Grandma has been kidnapped by an FTA that Stephanie can't catch despite the fact that he's 80 years old!
This series is my favorite of this genre. Funny Jersey Girl!
Fun Read
Funny, can't put it down!
The more I read the more I can't stop. I love how she leaves the "love/sex sceens to the imagination & yet they are still sooo steam! & the laughter keeps on coming!

This is the best series of books! Read them in order and read them ALL!

Another Stephanie Plum bounty hunter book. I loved them all.
One of the many adventures of Stephanie Plum, a New Jersey bounty hunter (by default). Lots of excitement, laughter and even some highly charged moments. A terrific series of books!
Seven Up
Janet Evanovich
3 out of 5
By the time this book was over, I could not tell you if the whole Stephanie Plum storyline had moved forward or not. The book started slow and never really picks up any momentum.
Stephanie embarks on what she considers an easy-peasy assignment; bring in Eddie DeChooch an octogenarian mobster. How difficult could that be, he drives around Trenton in a white Cadillac, kind of stands out, even for Trenton. Well, when it comes to Stephanie nothing is ever easy, especially when there is corpse found in Eddie's garage.
Not only does she have to find this gangster, but she also has to come up with a date for her pending nuptials to Joe, but then again, why would she do that when Ranger has offered her an evening of bliss. Decisions, Decisions.
Add in perfect sister Valerie coming back for more than a visit and the shambles of Stephanie's life is certainly on a roll, if only we knew which direction she would go.
I will continue with the series, I just hope the next one keeps my interest a little better.

what good stories
Funny read.
A great Stephanie Plum book! I suggest this series to everyone!
Stephanie Plum once again up to her neck in hilarious mysterious sleuthing. Murder, a randy paramour, a wily mobster, death threats, extortion and a triple kidnapping aside - Stephanie's really got the urge to run for her life.
These books make me laugh out loud!
Everybody knows about Stephanie Plum, the New Jersey bounty hunter and her hilarious misadventures. If you don't know--now's the time to find out...
DeChooch is Stephanie's lastest FTA and he's a pip as Grandma Mazur would say! She gets herself in a world of trouble, but Saint Valerie (her sister) is dethroned! Joe and Steph actually getting married?! There is a dress... what will happen? Mooner, Dougie, Valerie, Mary Alice, Angie, all make an appearance. Can Steph find what everyone is looking for? Ranger makes a deal that Stephanie has not choice but to accept!
Ends on a cliff hanger!

I took a 2 month break after book 6 and then really started missing Stephanie Plum. I read this one in a week end and felt like I was with old friends again. This one had me chuckle out loud several times (Stephanie racing the dog Bob over to Joyc's yard to do his business was especially funny). I also became more endeared to the goofy Mooner character. I really enjoyed it - a nice, light read that is very entertaining. Don't miss out on this series!
I always enjoy Janet Evanovich stories.
You can't help but fall in love and become addicted to this series!

Best one since the beginning, hysterically funny, heartwarming in spots and plus she finally figured out to capitalize the proper-name of a place. :)
Stephanie Plum does it again. Another hilarious adventure for the NJ Bounty Hunter with attitude! When Doogie and Mooner disappear, Ranger offers to help-at the price of a night spent with Stephanie. But she's sort of still engaged to sexy cop Joe Morelli. Mix in sister Valerie moving back home with kids in tow, Grandma Mazur wanting to know about lesbians and you have another best seller in the series.
Laugh out loud funny!
Not the cozy I wanted.

With every book - and this is #7 - Evanovich defines her characters more and makes me laugh out loud on a regular basis. Stephanie Plum, Trenton's bounty hunter, is on the trail of a bail jumper named Eddie DeChooch, who keeps slippingout of sight and raising hell. Stephanie discover's Grandma Mazur has had a 'unmentionable alliance' with DeChooch, her sister decides to move back home, Joe Morelli is talking marriage and Ranger is talking in her ear. Read this.
Fun to read - lots of laughs!
Every single book I've ready by Janet Evanovich has been entertaiing and sometimes laugh out loud funny. Don't pass up this opportunity to escape that part of lift that gets you down. Her books are always pick-me-uppers.
The 7th in Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.

It's a hardcover
