Love anthologies and this reminded me of how much I love Jim Butcher, Kat Richardson and Jim
C. Hines, and now I have to get better acquainted with Seanan McGuire and Lucy A. Snyder.
Also love the short story format since there is a small possibility that I will actually read one story and put the book down so I can go to bed. Be warned, the stories in this book are not conducive to sleep, and you might read the next one to take away some of the fear engendered by the one you just finished. All of the stories are excellent, and I truly recommend this book to anyone who likes to have a racing heart and shivers traveling down your backbone.
Happy reading!

I picked up this book to read COLD CASE by Jim Butcher.
It's Molly Carpenter's first week as the Winter Lady. Mab has tasked her with collecting a tribute from the Miksani, a small group of Fae who live in Alaska. When Molly arrives at the town, she finds Warden Carlos Ramirez is also there. He has been sent to help the Miksani. Molly and Carlos soon discover that something strange is going on. Some local fishermen have been possessed by some scary creatures. Molly is hoping this doesn't ruin her first assignment as the Winter Lady.
I've been waiting for a new Dresden Files book for over a year. I'm happy we got a little taste of the series while we are waiting for the next book. Harry Dresden doesn't appear in this story, but Molly quotes him several times. In this novella, we learn how Molly has changed over the past couple of years. The story is darker than most of the books in this series, but I still liked it. My rating: 4.5 Stars.
