I enjoyed the combination of Miami in the present and the past in this murder mystery. Edna Buchanan does a good job with the twists and turns of the story to arrive at a satisfying solution.

Another good one. Mystery surrounds a 1920 Miami Mansion in FL. The cold case squad opens the case of the owner's murder that was never solved. They find 3 infants bodies and you to have to read how they solve the case.

Buchanan does it again! The cold case squad delves into several old cases. Complex plots kept me guessing until the end.

in order to block a highrise from being built on the property of an old South Beach home, Kiki must convince the cold case squad of Miami to reopen the murder of ex-mayor Pierce Nolan. The crime ends up taking many twists and turns befor the killer is found. In the meantime, one of their own, Detective Stone, has reopened the case of his parents murder. A very well written book.

I enjoyed the multiple cases that all had to be solved. A good read.
One cold case dissolves into another - and they are all cracked together. Her Cold Case Squad series.

In these Cold Case Squad books the author is still showcasing Miami. I like these characters better than the ones in her previous series. Hope she keeps these coming! M'ann
I loved this book! It is a mystery that centers around a historic Southern house. The twist ending was great!
Well written as are all of Edna Buchanan's books that I've read. This one was especially good.
Buchanan is a consistently entertaining writer. I thought she couldn't outdo her Britt Montero character, but I find I like her Cold Case books even better. A must read for people who like light summer mysteries.
Good read.
In order to block a high-rise developer's plans to bulldoze the Shadows a gorgeous 1920s mansion in Miami a resourceful young preservationist approaches the police department's Cold Case Squad. Years ago, the high-profile owner of the Shadows was murdered and the crime has remained unsolved. Never content to let a trail stay cold, Lt. K. C. Riley and her detectives visit the long-abandoned pioneer house and discover a heartbreaking new mystery. But the people tied to the Shadows are evasive and paranoid, haunted by lies, guilt, and tangled pasts. Only one thing is clear: the killer is still out there, and the old, cold case is hotter than ever. . . .
One of Buchanan's best and she is always good. A murder that will boggle your mind with very intense, interesting characters. It takes you from Miami to Texas to California and back.
Edna Buchanan is one of my favorite authors and this is another great book by her.
***** Another great entry from this author. Good police procedural; great character in this continuing series.
