I had to use this as a supplementary text for a college Shakespeare course. I loved the book! It goes through Shakespeare's life, works, and life for the common person during his lifetime/the Renaissance (in England and the rest of the world). The writing is great - filled with juicy facts about medieval life that you normally wouldn't read elsewhere.
